Calling all inner south east locals!

We’re looking for a hospo superstar to join us on a permanent part time basis with the potential to move up to full time for the right person. We trade as a cafe during the day and a bar/restaurant during the evenings so availability over a 7 day roster is preferred. Experience in cocktails, coffee and floor will be highly favoured but we also offer training.

We are a tight knit team, looking for someone who can jump right in.
We pay award wages and have loads of group outings/trainings as a team.
You will need a valid RSA, full Australian working rights and ideally live locally to the st Kilda area.

Opal St Kilda, the little sister of Land of Plenty, is a cafe by day serving delicious toasties and naked espresso coffee but in the afternoons and evening it becomes a drink-in bottleshop, specializing in super small production, naturally made wines from all around Australia. Think Pet Nats, Oranges etc..

We need someone to come in and steer the ship after the inimitable Cooke makes the journey back to the UK.
We need a friendly face who can build this new concept and make it their own.
Someone who is passionate about the products they work with and can build regular clientele.
Hours will be a mixture of days and evenings (never past midnight) starting as permanent part time with the potential to develop to FT and the role will include sourcing, trying and ranging weird and wonderful wines from all over Aus which is pretty damn fun!

“I created this with my boss Kirilly () and she guided me in my first year of making wine. By her side we created our Shiraz/Grenache blend. 64 dozen were created (small batch), but it’s made such a big impact. A 50/50 blend of whole bunch ferment with only a small percentage of French oak.

Our grenache comes for the heathcote region and Shiraz from the Sunbury. My fave regions.

I’m a newcomer in the wine industry, having started off with sales in the industry, to now assisting wine making/event coordinator. At the age of 28 I’m still finding and growing my wine knowledge!

The wine label was inspired by our late Bernese mountain dog Wilbur who was our winery dog”

An honest assessment and a beautiful wine. Next time you poke your head in our wine cellar, make sure not to miss this cracker! We love it and so should you.
