If you’ve been into The Freehouse, there’s a good chance you’ve already had this one. Here’s sous chef Charlie building our tuna tostada: yellowfin tuna, chipotle and lime mayo, confit tomatoes, annatto seed oil, lime zest and lime seasoning to finish. Now you know what to order first next time you swing by. And yes, it’s gluten free like everything else on our menu.

No plans today? We’re open from 12.30pm with cold beers, pies, platters and drinks specials to keep you full and happy this public holiday. The full house spread: Sazón Fried Chicken, beef empanadas, meat pie, corn nuts, and tortillas with creamy avocado aioli and house-made tomato pico. $12 GFB and Aussie Ale pints, $15 Silly Goose halves, $5 Sour Puss shots.
And if that’s not enough, watch the AFL Grand Final with us tomorrow. The Dockers take on the Lions from 11.30am until late, with tables still available but filling up fast!

“The best fried chicken I’ve ever had!”

That’s the reaction we hear over and over about our Sazon fried chicken!

For too long, coeliacs and gluten free eaters missed out on great fried chicken. So when we built the menu, we knew it had to be on there.

Made with house seasoning and aioli, it’s one our most popular dishes, and it’s easy to taste why.

We’ve been blown away by how many people have walked through our doors and told us they honestly couldn’t tell we’re gluten free. And all we can say is that great food speaks for itself, and ours just happens to be fully gluten free from top to bottom.

We love that we can host everyone at the table, gluten free and not, without anyone having to think twice about it. That’s always been the goal here. A seat at our table, for every one, for every stage of life.

The feedback we’ve had so far has meant a lot to us, and we take everything on board! So keep it coming, and if you’ve already visited, we can’t wait to welcome you back soon.

AFL Grand Final means one thing at The Freehouse: everyone’s invited!

We’ve got the game on across the whole venue, extended booking times (3 hours if you book between 2pm-5pm) so nobody’s watching the clock, and something new on the menu. We’ve teamed up with Wholegreen Bakery and TwoBays to bring the ultimate footy finals pie, made with No Doubt Stout. GF like everything else here!

Plus, we’ve got an incredible Fullhouse Spread if you’re feeding the group. Pies and spreads are limited, so pre-order if you want them!

We’re getting generous with the drinks too: schooner-priced pints, $15 Silly Goose halves, plus $5 Sour Puss shots from 80 Proof.
Booking for a crew? The Private Dining Room seats up to 22 with its own private TV, and the Study fits 12.

Anyone else love potatoes as much as we do? 🥔

These are our iconic triple cooked Hawkes Farm potatoes (truly the best potatoes - look how big they are!)

Triple cooked till they’re crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle. Naturally gluten free and vegan too, though we won’t blame you for forgetting that once you’ve had a bite.
