I’ve just listed a 4 week course starting Sunday August 16 where we will paint and develop textile designs together 🎨
Sessions will be held on Sundays 10am-11:30am

Parking- The space is located a short walk (140m) from the 86 tram line. There is ample free 1h parking on Johnston st, with no limit after 12:30noon on Saturday and all day Sunday. There are many 2 hour free spots on Gore st opposite Aldi on surrounding side streets. Paid parking is available at Aldi.

About the host:
Tara Whalley established her self-titled fashion brand in 2015, after returning to Australia after a year of working with war-affected Mayan weavers. It was this time in Guatemala that formed Tara’s painting practice- translating experience into artwork for fabric print and a clear direction for the basis of her fashion signature style. Her collections are made in Melbourne with natural fibres, digitally printed to reduce environmental impact, utilise offcuts to minimise waste, are available in sizes XS to 10XLovely and feature Tara’s hand painted artwork.
Tara’s work has been featured in Paris Fashion Week (2021), New York Fashion Week (2020), Vogue, The Age, The Design Files, In Style, Lamington Drive and has won the Frankie Magazine 2019 Fashion Designer Award.
She has collaborated with brands like Gorman, Liken House and Frankie Magazine.

If you have ever been curious about fashion, fabric design or painting this is the class for you! In this class you will walk into a studio filled with delicious inspiration, baked freshly by To be Frank. We will spend time snacking and painting, and working on original painted artworks. In the second part of the class Tara will teach you how to turn your artworks into a Textile Design. Leave with your own original artwork and some tips for designing for textiles. Enjoy a friendly, creative and inspiring environment.
