YOU’RE NEVER TOO OLD TO CLIMB A TREE. Growing up on the Torres Strait, mornings always began with the rays of the sun. ☀️🌴 There was a comforting pace to our days - waking up early, sharing hearty breakfasts filled with cherished dishes like damper or domboi in coconut milk, and then jumping into exciting adventures with cousins and friends.

Our playground was a tropical delight 🏝️ from the shores of the sand to a multi offering straight from the ocean 🌊 where we’d spend sunrise 🌅 walking on the reef for breakfast and sunset fishing 🎣 for dinner, and the in between climbing mango, wangai and tamarind trees to make sweet and sour pickles, giving you natural treats straight off the tree. 🌳🥭

These beautiful memories ✨go on not only from my childhood but now, as I reflect on the many deadly carefree days, I’m reminded of the simple joys of island life - the connection to nature, the abundance of flavors, and the sense of community that defined our upbringing. It’s these memories that inspire me and my talented crew to bring a taste of the islands to every dish we create. 🙌🏾

Marinated tamarind and pickled wai wai. 🍴🌿 It’s more than just a dish - it’s a celebration of island ingredients, and a journey back to those idyllic days spent under the tropical sun.
