This week, we’re backing Yarraville Club Cricket Club 🏏

The club is growing quickly, especially in its junior program, and its Senior Women’s team is heading into its third season. They’re proud of what the program has become, and this week’s raffle profits will help cover the costs of running it, including umpire fees, cricket balls and afternoon tea..

The Vic Community Meat Raffle runs every week, with a different local group supported each time.

Tickets are $5 each, on sale from 5pm every Friday. The draw is at 8:30pm, and winners need to be there to claim their prize.

The Vic’s drinks list has received One Glass (Recommended) in the 2026 Australia’s W**e List of the Year Awards. The judges called us “a Footscray institution” and praised our selection of local favourites, international names and w**es that offer real value.

We’re rather fond of the bit about a magnum over a long lunch, too. 😜🍾

Oktoberfest at The Vic kicks off this Thursday. Footscray, we’re going a little Bavarian. 🍺🥨

Our friends at Bier 1040 are helping us dress up the venue and parklet for a Bavarian b**r hall feel, with special German b**rs and steins available at the bar.

The kitchen is getting in on it too, with pretzels, Wiener schnitzel and bratwurst alongside our regular à la carte menu.

Schnitzel happens!

We'll be celebrating from this Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October. Regular opening hours apply.

The Western Bulldogs’ newest recruit is settling into the job nicely. Here he is at his first game with friend of the Dogs and The Vic, Sue Dyson.

Today it’s game number two for Zeus, and a big Round 24 clash for the Doggies against Melbourne.

From one Westside local to another, we’re wishing Zeus and the Bulldogs the best of luck. 🔴⚪🔵
