A glimpse of Lontong Cap Go Meh.

Cap Go Meh celebration is the closing series of Chinese New Year celebrations. The event is celebrated on the 15th day after Chinese New Year. This year, the Cap Go Meh celebration is on the 12th of February.

In Indonesia, especially a long Java Island, besides being enlivened by lanterns, culture, traditions, and red trinkets, this celebration is also famous for the food menu called Lontong Cap Go Meh.

One of the must -have foods when the celebration the event.

Lontong Cap Go Meh was born from the adaptation of Chinese-Javanese peranakan. Generally, the dish contains Lontong (banana leaves rice cake), opor ayam (white chicken curry), sayur Lodeh (vegetables curry), sambal goreng hati (spicy liver stir fry), telur pindang (boiled tea eggs), bubuk koya (soy bean powder), krupuk (Crackers) and Acar (pickled).

The combination of every element in Lontong Cap Go meh has a deep philosophy.

By enjoying this dish, people not only feel the distinctive delicacy, but also celebrate the togetherness, hopes and luck that accompanies every bite. Lontong Cap Go Meh is a symbol of harmonious cultural acculturation between Chinese and the archipelago, which continues to be preserved until now .
