The End of Ostēr: What a Ride
After 5 ½ years, on the 30th of November 2024 we are closing the doors on Ostēr and reaching the end of this unforgettable journey. It’s been an experience filled with highs and lows, incredible lessons, and growth. I’m deeply grateful to have shared this ride with some truly amazing people—and yes, with some not-so-great ones too. That’s all part of the journey and what makes you stronger and more mature in the end.
A heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful customers who supported us from day one, some of whom became true friends, and to the new faces who joined us along the way. To the idiot customers—you were part of the story too, in your own way. To our old and new suppliers, our great neighbors—especially the Tofu Shop, Hampstead Flowers, and Mt View Hotel—thank you for being part of our community. To my friends and, above all, my family, I owe you the biggest thanks.
Now, for the other side of the coin: a big shout-out to everyone who thinks they know food—including certain food guides—while having no idea what really goes on behind the scenes. And a big thank you for nothing to the institutions that seem determined to crush small businesses instead of supporting them.
This journey has been wild, frustrating, beautiful, and unforgettable. Thank you for being part of it, whether you were cheering us on or standing in our way. What a ride.
