From the moment we arrived, you welcomed us like family and worked tirelessly all day to look after the steady stream of visitors. Your kindness, organisation and hospitality made our tasting event run so seamlessly, and we truly felt at home.

To everyone who stopped by our tasting table, sampled our handmade dumplings, chatted with us and took home a jar… or five jars! of our family recipe chilli oils—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Hearing your wonderful feedback and seeing how much you enjoyed our recipes, which have been passed down through generations, was incredibly special. Those conversations are exactly why we do what we do.

We were especially touched to meet visitors from New Zealand and France, who each took home five jars to share with their family and friends. Knowing that our family recipes will be enjoyed around dining tables across the world is something we never take for granted. It truly means the world to us.

As the winter air became colder outside, the atmosphere inside the beautiful Yarra Valley Dairy became even warmer. Watching everyone gather around, enjoying incredible local cheeses while discovering new flavours, sharing stories and tasting our full range made for such a cosy and unforgettable day.

For our very first tasting at Yarra Valley Dairy, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We have a feeling this might just have to become a regular visit because we had an absolute ball!

Some partnerships are planned. Ours began at a set of traffic lights.

Over two years ago, I started experimenting with a recipe that would eventually become one of Proud Phoenix & Co.’s signature products. Countless batches, endless taste tests, and plenty of trial and error led us to our launch in May 2025.

As our business started to grow, one thing became very clear—we were going to need a lot of honey.

From day one, I’ve always believed that if I can support local businesses, farmers, and passionate producers, I will. I reached out to beekeepers across my local area, hoping to find someone who shared those same values.

The response was always kind, but often the same.

“We’d love to help, but with the unpredictability of the bee season, we don’t want to promise something we can’t consistently supply.”

I respected their honesty, but I still hadn’t found the right partner.

Then, one sunny Friday afternoon, everything changed.

I was stopped at a set of traffic lights when I happened to glance to my left. Sitting beside me was a truck with big, bold yellow and black signage.

Pure Peninsula Honey.

I laughed to myself and thought, Well… if that’s not a sign, I don’t know what is.

So I did what most people probably wouldn’t.

I picked up the phone and called them.

I gave what was probably the most cringeworthy sales pitch imaginable, explaining that I was searching for the best beekeeper in Victoria and somehow, the universe had parked their truck right next to me.

There was a brief pause.

They were polite… a little surprised… and probably wondering who on earth this person was. After all, they’d never been propositioned at traffic lights before!

The very next day, I packed up a few jars of our chilli oils and made the trip to meet the team.

One taste was all it took.

Even the people who normally didn’t like chilli oil were hooked from the very first mouthful.

From that day forward, Pure Peninsula Honey became far more than a supplier—they became part of the Proud Phoenix & Co. journey.

Some things are worth freezing for. 💙❄️

What an incredible day at the annual Big Freeze event at Brian’s Gourmet Butchers in Lyndhurst, raising vital funds and awareness for those affected by Motor Neurone Disease.

Watching everyone willingly brave the icy cold for such an important cause was truly inspiring. It was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with generosity, compassion and a shared purpose.

A huge thank you to Brian and Angela for putting on another amazing event. Your commitment to giving back and bringing the community together is something really special, and the incredible turnout showed just how much love and support surrounds this event.

We were so grateful to be part of the day, standing out in the freezing weather serving hot dumplings to the kids and sharing samples from the Proud Phoenix & Co. chilli range. Seeing familiar faces, meeting new ones, and sharing food with our community is what it’s all about.
