Crazy weekend coming up for Those Little Poffertjes!

On Saturday we're heading back into the world of knights, dragons, faeries and fantasy at the Bruthen Medieval Market. The medieval costume is coming out of storage once again as we join in the fun with hot Dutch poffertjes and a little bit of magic.

Then Sunday is a double-header.

We'll be back in our regular spot at the Rail Trail Community Market Leongatha, serving breakfast and brunch favourites to our South Gippsland friends.

After that, we're heading straight to the launch of the brand new Nite Bites at the Seaford Hotel, bringing fresh poffertjes, sweet toppings and warm dessert vibes to kick off what promises to be a fantastic new local event.

Launched at Frankston Fire Festival and sold out on debut.

Our Apple Crumble Poffertjes were created especially for the inaugural Frankston Fire Festival — warm poffertjes, custard, stewed Victorian apples, and crumble on top.

And with the rain joining the theme in true dramatic fashion, they turned out to be exactly the right dessert for the night.

Frankston really did show up in raincoats, umbrellas, gumboots, and full winter spirit. Families came out anyway, the organisers embraced the weather beautifully, and somehow the rain became part of the story instead of the thing that ruined it.

A little surprise this week seeing Those Little Poffertjes featured in a local newspaper article about the new ScullyBug Cranbourne Farmers & Makers Market.

More than anything, it made me reflect on the people behind these events.

A huge thank you to the ScullyBug team for the passion, hard work and determination that goes into creating community spaces in areas that truly need them. It's wonderful to see local families, school friends, neighbours and community groups come together outside of the usual day-to-day routine.

Thank you also to the council for supporting events like these and providing opportunities for small businesses, makers, growers and food vendors. For many of us, events are more than a hobby – they're our livelihood. A full day of trade allows businesses like ours to continue doing what we love while contributing to local communities.

We're proud to be a small part of it and look forward to many more market days, coffee catch-ups, community conversations and of course, plenty of poffertjes.

Thank you to everyone who comes along and supports local.

Next weekend we’re splitting the weekend between the coast and the Yarra Valley.

Saturday 6 June we’ll be at the Phillip Island Markets Foreshore Market from 11am–5pm serving fresh poffertjes right by the water.

Then Sunday 7 June we’re heading to the beautiful Yarra Glen Racecourse Market with Craft Markets Australia from 9am–2pm for a morning of market wandering, hot poffertjes and all your favourite toppings.

One weekend.
Two beautiful locations.
Plenty of butter, maple and fluffy little Dutch pancakes.

Yes… there are poffertjes under there somewhere!

Buried under our delicious strawberry coulis, Nutella and whipped cream. It’s rich, fruity, chocolatey and indulgent… almost like a warm Black Forest cake in mini pancake form.

Soft fluffy poffertjes soaking up all that strawberry and chocolate goodness while the butter melts through…

This one is definitely not the “just one bite” flavour... this one disappears faster than we can make it at some events.

Next weekend we’re back doing what we love… feeding market wanderers from breakfast through to dinner 😍

Saturday is a double-header in Cranbourne with ScullyBug Markets Cranbourne Farmers & Makers Market from 9am–2pm, followed by Nite Bites from 4pm–9.30pm — all happening at 149 Sladen Street. So whether you’re chasing a morning coffee stroll or a Saturday night street food vibe, we’ve got the poffertjes hot and ready.

Then Sunday we’re heading to the beautiful Millgrove Market from 9am–2pm for a relaxed day in the Yarra Valley surrounds.

Maple, Nutella, strawberries, bananas, cream… and those little Dutch pancakes cooking fresh on the plate all weekend long.

Chocolate and banana… honestly, this combination has been part of Aussie sweet memories for decades.

From choc bananas at the milkbar, to Streets Funny Feet, Banana Paddle Pops… there’s just something about banana and chocolate together that feels nostalgic.

A huge thank you to Konga and the entire Melbourne Renfair team for creating something truly magical this weekend.

The amount of work, organisation, creativity and passion that went into transforming the Yarra Glen Racecourse into a living medieval world is honestly incredible. Everywhere you looked there was detail, atmosphere, entertainment and people completely immersed in the experience.

To see thousands upon thousands of people dressed in amazing costumes, smiling, laughing and escaping into another world for the weekend was something really special to be part of.

As a vendor, I also want to say how well organised the event felt. Huge crowds, fantastic energy and such a welcoming atmosphere from staff, organisers and patrons alike.

Those Little Poffertjes felt right at home in the medieval village, and we’re already excited for next year.

And to everyone who patiently waited in the enormous queues across the festival all weekend — thank you. The turnout was absolutely incredible, and we truly appreciate every single person who stopped by for poffertjes.

Weekend plans sorted…

Friday night we’re heading seaside for Soul Night Market Sorrento (5–9pm) — dinner with a view, fresh poffertjes cooking, and that perfect end-of-week vibe.

Then Saturday morning we’re heading just down the road for our first time at Tootgarook Primary School Market (8am–1pm).
Breakfast is officially sorted — hot, fluffy poffertjes with all your favourite toppings.

And on Sunday we’re back at one of our regular favourites — Kinglake Market (9am–2pm) with all the maple, Nutella, strawberries, bananas and cream ready to go.

Three markets. Three chances to find us.
