We love baking at Lumen. It’s long been a really lovely part of what we do here.

Everything is made from scratch, from recipes we’ve picked up over the years and on our travels. It’s also another chance for us to use beautiful produce and know a little more about where the things we’re cooking with have come from.

These chocolate and hazelnut tarts are made with cacao grown by Emilce Castro. A real pleasure to get to bake with something so special.

Have one with a coffee, at the end of a meal, or order a couple for the table to share. Made here, by us.

Coffee is a big love of ours at Lumen People, so it’s always pretty special when we get to share coffee that we’re really excited about.

This one is a Gesha from Victor Bermudez in Huila, Colombia — and it’s a very good one.

Floral and bright, orange and jasmine, and a lovely creamy finish. It’s delicate and elegant — just a really beautiful coffee to drink.

We’re very happy to have it on the bar for a little while, brewing specially to order.

Behind every remarkable cup is someone who chose to dedicate their life to it.

Victor Bermudez found his way back to his family’s farm in Huila, Colombia, where he transformed a family tradition into one of Colombia’s most exciting coffee projects. Guided by curiosity and precision, his approach to fermentation is beautifully restrained, allowing the Gesha variety to express itself with elegance and clarity.

The kind of Gesha that reminds you why the variety became so celebrated in the first place.

In the cup: jasmine florals, tangerine, lemongrass, and a beautifully creamy finish.

This weekend, we feel incredibly fortunate to be brewing Victor’s coffee as a hand brew and sharing a small part of his story with you.
