Today marks one week since the devastating fire that took our beloved Hello Bello from us.

This past week has been one of the hardest we have ever faced — filled with shock, sadness, and disbelief. Losing something we poured our hearts into has been incredibly painful, not just for us, but for our amazing staff and the community that made Hello Bello so special.

Through it all, the support from our locals, customers, and friends has meant everything to us. The messages, visits, and kind words have lifted us during moments when we needed it most, and we are truly grateful to be part of such an incredible community.

We continue to work closely with Victoria Police and remain hopeful that those responsible will be identified.

If anyone in the Black Rock area has CCTV footage from the night of the incident, particularly around Bluff Road, Bay Road, or nearby streets, we kindly ask that you contact Victoria Police, as even the smallest detail may assist the investigation.

Hello Bello has always been built on community, family, and hard work — and while we are hurting right now, we remain hopeful and determined for what the future holds.

We would like to address the recent media coverage surrounding the fire at Hello Bello, and firstly say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has reached out with support during this incredibly difficult time, it has truly meant more to us than we can express.

Towards the end of last year, we made the decision to enter into a small business restructure to support a structured payment plan relating to an ATO debt, a step that was taken carefully and responsibly to ensure the longevity of our business after what has been a very challenging period for the hospitality industry, and in no way a move towards closing our doors.

We have no outstanding debts to any current suppliers and we continue to maintain strong and respectful relationships with all of them, something that has always been deeply important to us.

While we understand that media coverage can often lean towards attention grabbing headlines, it is incredibly difficult to read what is being written when it is so damaging to a small family business, and we ask for kindness and privacy at this time while investigations are ongoing.

We have also seen commentary referencing the ethnic background of the owners which is deeply upsetting and has no place in this conversation.

We are working closely with police and doing everything we can to assist in their investigation, with the hope that those responsible are identified and held accountable. Any suggestion that this incident is in any way linked to us is extremely hurtful at a time when we are already navigating the reality of losing something we have worked so hard to build.

We love our community and we love our locals, and more than anything we just want to return to doing what we love ❤️

We’re devastated to share that Hello Bello was destroyed in an act of arson last night. Waking up to see our much-loved space gone has been incredibly difficult.

Hello Bello was never just a pizza shop. It was built with hard work, heart, and a genuine connection to this community. Over the years, it became a place where people came together, and we were proud to support local teams and give back wherever we could.

Our team has always been at the centre of everything we do. They’re not just staff, they’re family. This loss has impacted each and everyone of them, and our thoughts are with them as we navigate what comes next together.

This loss is deeply felt not only by us, but by the many loyal customers and community members who have supported us from the very beginning.

We’re truly grateful for the outpouring of kindness, messages, and support during this incredibly tough time. It means more than we can say. ❤️
