It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Mawson Cafe will be closing permanently.

Due to a number of incredibly tough and unforeseen challenges, we’ve been unable to reopen. With one month of our planned five-month closure already gone, it’s simply no longer viable for us to open our doors again.
We are absolutely heartbroken. Heartbroken that we don’t get our final months, that there will be no last coffees poured, no final chaotic rushes, no chance to say goodbye in person. We are heartbroken that we don’t get a proper farewell to a dream that meant everything to us.
This cafe was more than a business. It was a dream built in the town I grew up in, surrounded by people we love. Our customers became familiar faces, our staff became family, and every day was fuelled by connection, laughter, and community.
To everyone who supported us over the last 4.5 years - thank you. Thank you for choosing us, cheering us on, showing up, and believing in us. We will forever be grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the love you gave to this little cafe.
This isn’t the ending we imagined, but we are so proud of what we created and so thankful for every person who was part of it.

To our valued customers,
We were very much looking forward to reopening after our Christmas break, however due to massive pile of unforeseen circumstances that have arisen over the past week, we will unfortunately not be reopening as planned.

Alongside these challenges, I have also been advised to step back from work for the time being to prioritise the health and wellbeing of my baby. As a small business that Jacob and I put a lot of ourselves into, this has required us to take a short pause while we assess our options and work through the current situation.

We understand this may be disappointing and sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We truly appreciate your patience, kindness, and continued support, and will provide an update as soon as we are able.

Well, here we go. 🤎

After 4.5 years of our 5 year lease, it is with very heavy hearts that we share the news that our time at 52 Mawson Road will be coming to an end in May 2026. 🥺

We have loved every single second of this journey. However, hospitality is not without its hardships and heartaches, and we truly feel we have poured everything we have into our gorgeous little café. As our family starts to grow, Jacob & I have made the decision that this chapter is coming to a close and we need to focus on what comes next for us. 🧑‍🧑‍🧒🤍

To our regulars, to every booking big and small, to the conversations shared over the coffee machine, and to those of you who trusted us with a part of your daily lives & routine. Being your baristas has been far more special than we ever imagined.
To our staff, past and present you helped shape Mawson Cafe into what it is today. We are so grateful for each of you and feel incredibly lucky to finish this chapter on a high with such an amazing team.

Our final day of trade will be Mother’s Day 2026.
While we don’t yet know what the future holds for Mawson Cafe or 52 Mawson Road, we are feeling all the emotions and are so grateful to spend our final six months surrounded by this beautiful community.

💚 Over the coming months, we’d love for you to come in, grab a coffee, book a table, share a meal, and help us create some last beautiful memories together. Let’s make these final months ones to remember.
