It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Mawson Cafe will be closing permanently.
Due to a number of incredibly tough and unforeseen challenges, we’ve been unable to reopen. With one month of our planned five-month closure already gone, it’s simply no longer viable for us to open our doors again.
We are absolutely heartbroken. Heartbroken that we don’t get our final months, that there will be no last coffees poured, no final chaotic rushes, no chance to say goodbye in person. We are heartbroken that we don’t get a proper farewell to a dream that meant everything to us.
This cafe was more than a business. It was a dream built in the town I grew up in, surrounded by people we love. Our customers became familiar faces, our staff became family, and every day was fuelled by connection, laughter, and community.
To everyone who supported us over the last 4.5 years - thank you. Thank you for choosing us, cheering us on, showing up, and believing in us. We will forever be grateful for the memories, the friendships, and the love you gave to this little cafe.
This isn’t the ending we imagined, but we are so proud of what we created and so thankful for every person who was part of it.
