Well, that's a wrap! We poured our hearts and souls into this undertaking and Mike was the best partner I could wish for, so it's kinda sad to see it come to an end. We would like to, again, thank EVERYBODY who supported us during this time. We made many friends and met a lot of interesting people, and it gives us a warm feeling inside to know that we brought some measure of enjoyment to so many people people. We would also like to thank all our staff members who helped us over the years. This includes friend and family. Without you guys we would've been lost 💖😊👏

It's been an incredible, action-packed, challenging and fascinating few years we've shared with the cafè. But as we embark on a new chapter, it's time to bid farewell. With my physical health issues presenting ongoing challenges and Mike discovering his true passions lie elsewhere, the decision has been made to close the cafe. This wasn't a decision taken lightly, but one that paves the way for exciting new opportunities.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the locals, regulars and guests from across Australia and the world, friends and family who have supported us every step of the way. Your loyalty and encouragement have been the driving force behind our journey.

There's new snow on the mountain and waterfalls are roaring. After your adventures why not come in and warm up and refuel for the next one? We have the best views (when the clouds lift) of the mountains, we have warm food, including an Apple Pie Waffle, hot coffee and a warm atmosphere ☕️🍰🏔️❄️️️️

Just a reminder.....we will not OPEN until 11am on SATURDAY 13TH September. Mike is leaving for the airport to start his new job in Queensland 🥺
We will also be CLOSED on MONDAY 15th September for Jeanette's medical procedure in Hobart.
Open again as usual on Thursday 18th September 🤗

Snowfall warning - Mount Field National Park

Alpine snowfalls are predicted in the coming days at Mount Field National Park.

The road conditions can change quickly on Lake Dobson Road to the alpine area.

Depending on the conditions of snow and ice, the road may only be open to 4WDs (preferably with high road clearance) and 2WDs with snow chains. If snow continues to fall, the road may be periodically closed for clearing.

Please drive to the conditions as roads can be very slippery. Patches of snow and ice can remain on the road throughout the day when the temperatures are low. The road status will be updated as conditions change.

We had such a great day today! 🤩👍🏻 Lots of people, both regulars and tourists, beautiful weather and still some snow on the mountains ❄️🏔😶‍🌫️ Mike came home just after lunch and thanks Heather for coming in on short notice 🤗🤩👍🏻
Tomorrow back to normal menu and opening hours 🤗😁
