The iconic Australian movie “We of the Never Never” was filmed here, and the replica of the original homestead remains one of the main attractions for visitors interested in Australian history and culture. Mataranka Homestead is open all year round, offering outback accommodation, a bistro and bar, and during the high season (Easter to late September), guests can enjoy live music and entertainment six nights a week. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, and our large reception area stocks essential supplies, souvenirs and fishing gear. Relax with a cold beer at Maluka’s Bar, enjoy a great meal, and have a yarn with the locals while experiencing the authentic outback lifestyle in Mataranka, Northern Territory.
