Alright Maryborough, we’re a few weeks in! 🍻
Firstly, a big thank you. The support since reopening the doors of the Cambrian has been pretty incredible, and we’re continuing to learn, grow and find our feet every week.
Thank you to the The Maryborough District Advertiser for sharing a little of our story with the community.
From the beginning, our goal for the Cambrian has been pretty simple: a food-led, family-friendly pub with community at its heart.
And on that note, most of you who have visited have probably seen me running around the place, so I thought it was probably time to put a name to the face.
Hi, I’m Amber, the Cambrian’s Venue Manager. 👋
I’m a Maryborough local raising a little one of my own, and I’m fairly passionate about local history and preservation, good food, community... and a bit of banter.
My background is a mixed bag of business ownership, tourism, marketing and hospitality, which has somehow led to me spending my days helping bring an old Maryborough pub back to life.
My daughter has managed to get involved too. She helped create our Dragon Shakes and was the inspiration behind the whole Little Dragon kids menu. If you’ve seen it, you’ll know what I mean. If you haven’t, you’ll have to come and find out.
I’m always up for a chat, as many of you have already discovered!
Over the coming weeks, we’ll introduce you to more of the people behind the Cambrian, share more of what we’re working on and keep listening to what our community wants from its pub.
A few updates while I’ve got you:
🃏 POT & SCHOONER CARDS
Still waiting on them. They ARE coming, I promise. At this point, bring it up with the postie, not me. 😂
☎️ THE PUB PHONE
Yes, we have one!
The reality is, if I answered every call that came through, you’d probably never see me leave the phone. I’m heavily involved on the floor while also managing everything happening behind the scenes.
For that reason, online bookings are preferred, and text message is the easiest way to reach us for bookings and general enquiries. I do my absolute best to return missed calls and respond to every message that comes through.
👂 “WHAT ABOUT...?”
I hear you. I promise, I’m listening.
Our drinks menu, w**e list, specials board and food offerings will continue to evolve as we settle in, learn what works and try new things.
Not every idea can happen overnight, but keep the feedback coming. Some of the changes you’ve already seen around the Cambrian have come directly from conversations with you.
🎶 LIVE MUSIC
Yes. Yes. AND YES. It’s coming!
The b**r garden has had a beautiful renovation and we can’t wait to bring some live tunes into it as the weather warms up.
So, Maryborough, this one’s over to you...
When would YOU like to see live music at the Cambrian?
Friday nights? Saturday afternoons? Sunday Sessions?
And what do you want to hear?
We’re still only at the beginning. There are more things coming, more people for you to meet and plenty more we want to do with this beautiful old pub.
Thanks for coming along for the ride, Maryborough.
Eat well. Drink better. Stay awhile.
