Rustic and full of character is the best way to describe Chinese ceramicist Luo Zhi Min’s eclectic range of hand-built teapots 🫖

We’ve commissioned a range of hand-built teapots and are making them available for pre-order. These pots are made from Yunnan Jianshui Clay and come in two different colours – the more traditional looking purple clay and a unique white clay.

Pre-orders for these teapots will close Sun 1st Feb. Teapots will be dispatched from Mon 2nd March 🚚🫖

It took us a minute but finally...after all these years...we've got some Taiwanese Oolongs on site 🍃🍵 🎊 🎉

This tasty one is a Li Shan that we recently featured as part of our Tea Discovery Club. A greener style of Oolong that's super floral, and very creamy, it's a great example of what Taiwanese Oolongs are all about.

White Leaf King (Bai Ye Wang) is a low-yield, Spring Dancong that sits in the middle of the fruity and floral flavour spectrum that we often use to help describe different types of Dancong Oolong teas 🍃🍵

It's no secret that Dancong Oolongs are one of our favourite types of teas and this one was a great discovery. Its got it all – complex flavours, deep aroma, strength. A great addition to the range.

Our last TDC (Tea Discovery Club) box featured a pre-qingming Mengding Ganlu green tea from Sichuan 🍃 🍵

A lot gets said about pre-qingming teas and every year, at the start of the new tea season, a lot of hype is built around pre-qingming teas. But is the hype worth it? It depends on your perspective.

Judging the tea on its own merits, this is a great green tea. It's wonderfully fresh, surprisingly sweet (for a green tea) and has incredible depth. But not being able to compare the same tea produced at a different time/point in the season, it's hard to say how much impact the fact that it's pre-qingming has on the tea.

And just like that…it’s over. Our Marrickville tea studio is no more. We had a good run and it’s been a blast. From the bottom of our hearts, we just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone that’s supported us, whether it’s making an order online or coming in for a Guided Tea Tasting on a weekend.

It’s a bittersweet feeling. It’s sad to see the shop close but we're also excited to see where things go from here. We'll still continue to source a range of interesting and high-grade teas and making them available online via our website.

As the old cliche goes…one door closes, another opens.

Mentally prepping for our final weekend of tea tastings at the studio 🍃🍵 It's a bittersweet feeling knowing that our last days at the shop are coming up. We've had many great tea sessions around the counter over the years, and being able to share tea with other curious and like-minded folk will be what we'll miss most about not having a physical shop anymore.

If you've ever wanted to try out a Guided Tea Tasting, this weekend's your last chance before we close. Or if you're in the area, pop in to say hi/bye. We'd love to see you there!
