A TRIBUTE TO NOLA & ROY THOMPSON
Today, we pay tribute to two truly extraordinary people, Nola and Roy Thompson.
For many years, Nola and Roy had their own special table here at The Boat Shed, where they would come to enjoy a meal and spend time with us. Their visits were always special, and we were incredibly fortunate to know them.
Beyond the people they knew and the warmth they brought with them, it was their extraordinary generosity and love for their community that made Nola and Roy so remarkable.
For decades, the Thompsons quietly helped shape and strengthen the Sunshine Coast. Their philanthropy helped fund LifeFlight, the Thompson Institute, the Wishlist building, and countless scholarships and bursaries that have supported and will continue to support generations of students. Their generosity has touched thousands of lives and will continue to do so for generations to come.
They were married for more than 70 years - a remarkable life shared.
We are deeply saddened that we will no longer see Nola and Roy sitting at their table with us. We will miss their smiles, their conversations, and simply knowing they were there.
Thank you, Nola and Roy, for everything you gave to your community and to the countless Queenslanders whose lives you changed.
