About Soka
Soka (.restaurant) is a trendy modern Japanese restaurant inspired by charcoal cooking. We are proudly part of the group behind some of Brisbane and Sunshine Coast’s best-reviewed modern restaurants, including Lyra Greek Restaurant.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Serve food and beverages with attention to detail
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Set up and clean tables before and after service
- Handle payments and process transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the venue

What We’re Looking For

- Positive attitude and team spirit
- Open-minded approach to learning and service
- Willingness to grow and improve
- Strong sense of responsibility
- Respectful and supportive toward team members
- W**e & sake knowledge is desirable but not essential

Minimum Requirements

- Fluent English
- Strong previous experience in full table service
- Visa valid for at least 6 months (or option to extend)
- Valid QLD RSA

About Soka

Soka (.restaurant) is a trendy and Japanese restaurant with charcoal inspiration and it’s owned by the group, who manages some of Brisbane/ Sunshine Coast's best reviewed modern restaurants including Lyra Greek on the Sunshine Coast.

We are looking for a Cook/ Chef!

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards
- Assist in managing daily kitchen operations and service
- Ensure food preparation, presentation, and portioning are consistent and of high quality
- Check the freshness and quality of ingredients and food products
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areas, equipment, and storage facilities
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management
- Support menu development and recipe preparation under the direction of senior chefs
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service when required
- Ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of meals during busy periods
- Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance or safety issues

Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery or related field preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Passion for quality food and presentation
