Afternoon in Shimla, India… apparently.

It’s the middle of the afternoon, but the fog has completely swallowed the mountains.

Cool air, huge cedar trees, almost zero visibility — and somehow it feels absolutely beautiful.

DID YOU KNOW? One of Mandurah’s oldest buildings is still standing today.
If you’ve driven through Halls Head, you may have passed a small limestone cottage without realising just how much history is sitting there.
Hall’s Cottage, also known as Dedallumup, was built around 1832–1833 for Henry Hall and his family. The five-room cottage was constructed using local limestone and originally had a roof made from hand-split sheoak shingles.
But this little cottage wasn't simply somebody's home.
Over the years it housed several families connected with early Mandurah, including the Hall and Sutton families. It was also leased to Thomas Watson, who was Mandurah’s first mail contractor and ferry keeper. At one stage, John Sutton even planned to use the cottage as a place where travellers could stop for accommodation and refreshments.
Its location made it particularly important. Hall’s Cottage stood beside the old ferry crossing over the Peel Inlet, long before Mandurah had the bridges and roads we take for granted today. It became a familiar landmark for people travelling through the area.
Almost two centuries later, it is still here.
Next time you're passing through Halls Head, have another look. You're looking at a surviving piece of early Mandurah.
