8th Sense and our ‘mini’ kitchen has lived a full, adventurous life so far in only 3 years and 8 months.
About 3 1/2 years ago, we were lucky to have a fabulous and quirky human join our quirky little shop.
She has journeyed with us, laughed a lot, and worked her tooshy off to provide hospitality, coffees, gelato, telling stories, and sharing her love of cheese. Perhaps the 4 legged furry customers are some of her favourite, and that’s ok. 🤭 🐾
And, she is the embodiment of what 8th Sense’s philosophy is, to provide people with a fun experience; care, a listening ear, to be full of flavours, not a shop to simply buy stuff at.
Thank you Kathleen for the last 3 1/2 years of fun, hard work, friendship, huge heart and our 8th sense adventures.
You will still see her face around, especially with the tasty Taste by TNT girls on a Saturday. Kathleen’s last day with us is Friday.

While I’m here, know that our hearts are full of thanks to you, our guests and customers. We thank every single one of you for the joy you bring us during the week, and the support you give. Truly. You keep us going. 🙏
NB: I have received some resumes and know of wonderful young people I’d LOVE to employ. I’m sorry I can’t hire you all, as it would be SO MUCH FUN.
With the 5% wage increase in the last couple of months, plus other wage increases coming in December, 12% Super and other increases to ingredient costs etc (24% increase to gelato ingredients, 300% increase to chocolate etc), we are finding it tricky, just like many micro businesses, to juggle & navigate our way forward. We are working through the puzzle and know there is always a solution to every puzzle life throws! We’d love a big team of great humans, and to get there, we need to take one step at a time.
