Got a great idea to bring more life, creativity or community spirit to Mackay's City Centre or Waterfront?

💡 Applications are now open for the Mackay City and Waterfront grant program, with funding available to help community groups, businesses, creatives and property owners turn their ideas into reality.

Available grants include:
✅ Make Your Place Placemaking Grant – up to $7500
✅ Make Your Place Microgrant – up to $1500
✅ City Safety Grant – up to $3000
✅ Façade Improvement Grant – up to $5000 (region wide applications welcomed)

From community events and live entertainment to public space activations, safety initiatives and building improvements, these grants are designed to help create vibrant, safe and welcoming places for everyone.

Pack your picnic blanket or camp chair, bring your family and friends, and settle in for an incredible afternoon and evening of pipes, drums, Celtic music and dancing.

Headline act Murphy's Pigs will kick off the celebrations with a performance from 1:30pm, leading into the Bluewater Fling festivities, before returning from 6-8.30pm for a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 concert to keep the celebrations rolling into the community Ceilidh Red Dog Riverfront and fireworks over the Pioneer River.
