🚨 ANOTHER NAIL IN THE COFFIN FOR SMALL BUSINESS.
The gates to Lysterfield Park/Lake have been closed — and neighbouring businesses were given NO warning whatsoever.
The result?
Our car park at Stella’s Kitchen & Bill’s Gate is completely FULL with people trying to access the park, while our restaurant and retail shop are virtually empty.
So our actual customers can’t park, and our small businesses are losing trade.
Meanwhile, elderly visitors are being forced to walk along the road to access the park, and we have been advised that elderly people fell yesterday. There is also a school nearby with children using these roads.
No alternative parking.
No safe pedestrian solution.
No communication with neighbouring businesses.
Who thought this was a good idea?
Small businesses are already battling enormous increases in wages, food, utilities, insurance and operating costs. We don’t need government decisions made without consultation becoming another nail in the coffin.
This is hurting local businesses and creating a completely unnecessary safety hazard.
