Experienced Baristas
Front of House

We’re looking for people who genuinely enjoy hospitality — good food, great coffee, busy days, happy customers and working as part of a supportive team.

There are casual and seasonal positions available, with plenty of hours for the right people over the busy summer period.

And the workplace isn't too shabby either… right on the river at the Swing Bridge, a few steps from the beach.

☕ BARISTA WANTED — COME JOIN THE GROCER TEAM!

We’re looking for an experienced casual barista to join our team at Birregurra Grocer.

We’re after someone who:
☕ Knows their way around a coffee machine and can make a consistently great cup
😊 Is friendly, confident and genuinely enjoys looking after people
🤝 Works well as part of a small, busy team
⚡ Can keep their cool when the coffee orders start flying!

This is a casual position, with regular shifts available. We’d particularly love to hear from someone local (or nearby) who is looking for ongoing work and can be flexible with days.

We’re a busy country café, restaurant and store in Birregurra, with a great bunch of people and plenty happening as we head towards the warmer months.

Seasonal Closure Notice – Lorne Grocer

As we head into the quieter winter months, we’ll be closing Lorne Grocer at the Swing Bridge after service this Sunday 10 May, with plans to reopen on 1st November for another big summer ahead.

We want to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone for the incredible support you’ve shown us in our first season. Opening this venue has been a huge journey — from transforming what was essentially a building shell into a fully functioning venue in just 5 weeks, to being up and running in time for Christmas.

It’s certainly been a summer to remember — with the challenges of fire threats, flooding, and then fire again, alongside all the usual (and not-so-usual!) teething issues that come with launching a new business. Through it all, your support, patience, and encouragement have meant everything to us.

We’re really proud of what’s been created here, and so grateful to be part of Lorne.

We’ll still be busy over winter at Birregurra Grocer, so if you find yourself passing through, we’d love to see you there.

Thanks for being part of our first chapter — we’ll see you again from 1 November, when we look forward to welcoming you back to our little corner of the coast — down by the Swing Bridge, where the river meets the sea. It really is a pretty special spot.

As the summer rush, Easter and school holidays wrap up, and the cooler weather rolls in, we’re adjusting our opening hours

Well… we took a bit of a hopeful gamble on the weather for tonight’s lasagna night, and it hasn’t quite gone our way 🌊💨🌧️

With this arctic blast blowing in, we’ve made the call to cancel — our little space just isn’t quite up for a night like this.

We were so looking forward to a cosy night of enjoying Amanda’s lasagna
