Hi to all our valued customers, we have some very sad news about The Sassy Bean.
The Sassy Bean has sustained some severe water damage caused by a burst fire sprinkler that was fitted in our kitchen. Although we do not cook in our cafe, something still went wrong and 'thems are the breaks', as they say.
We will attempt to reopen as soon as possible but it could include a refit that may take some time.
Whilst making pies and preparing food for our valued customers yesterday morning, all of a sudden it's raining inside.
The fire sprinkler bursting caused, a massive amount of water flow and just destroyed everything it touched.
The water shorted out the power, damaged plaster and the floor, damaged all out electric equipment, fridges, freezers and yes our famous pie makers.
Unfortunately, most of our equipment was near new and so was our fitout. Rebuilding the cafe is gonna be a big chore that Lee and I, don't really wanna do again but we will asap.
We fought council for a year and a half to get open, we fought COVID and the lockdowns for two and a half years, and the 2022 flood for another two and a half years to remain open and, now this.
I admit this issue has gutted me more than our other issues but we will fight and beat this also. I believe that, you only fail if you give up. Failing and giving up is not in my vocabulary.
Our commitment to once again, supplying the wonderful people of Lismore and the surrounding area with good food, good coffee and bad jokes once again. This commitment is as strong as ever, and I look forward to being of service to the Lismore community ASAP.
