A few people have been asking about the new chef who has been coming up with these delicious specials, so we’d like to introduce you to our local lad Louis. Louis Debast has taken on the job since March after working as a cook at the Hub Pub since opening our doors.
Louis is a passionate cook who loves creating and tasting Japanese cuisine but also incorporates a touch of European influence into his cooking due to his Belgian roots.
He's currently living a fascinating, jam packed life combining a job as a lab assistant at a flavour creating company in Ballarat, studying a double degree in food technology and business at RMIT university, playing footy for the Lexton tigers and being committed to this job at the Hub Pub.
Louis has built up some hands on kitchen experience from working at the Pyrenees Hotel, the Avoca Hotel and Wayward Winery.
He really enjoys supporting the younger kitchen staff and fostering a positive environment at the hub. Louis is looking forward to serving you some nice flavours at our local community run pub.
