To our loyal customers and friends,

It is with enormous regret that I have no alternative but to advise that the Leura Garage has been forced to close.

A liquidator has been appointed as of Wednesday, January 25, 2023.

I realise that this will come as a surprise to many of you, but the restaurant has struggled to continue since the bushfires of September 2019. This was followed by Covid 1 then Covid 2 and repercussions from ongoing La Nina wet weather events. These circumstances negatively impacted on turnover and profitability with the business, and it has been impossible to recover from them.

The final blow came this week when I was unsuccessful in negotiating an extension of the lease on acceptable terms and conditions.

During this torrid time, it was a priority to retain my competent and loyal employees and despite the expense this was achieved.

Of all our triumphs I am most proud of our irresistibly positive workplace culture. Great people make great hospitality businesses. Our authentic venue became synonymous with friendly, consistent service thanks to our wonderful staff over the years.

12 years ago a former automotive workshop became the Leura Garage Restaurant. It stood the test of time as a leading Blue Mountains tourism enterprise and enjoyed the mutual affection of our local community. Many accolades and industry awards including a recent Gold Award from the Restaurant and Catering Association plus recognition in the SMH Good Food Guide affirm that success and enduring popularity.

No one is more disappointed than myself and my family who have been so supportive over the years on this sad day.

Of course, the Garage would have never succeeded without your support. We are honoured to have served you.

Everyone had a fantastic time at this year's lantern parade as part of the Leura Christmas Festival. The childern proudly showcased their beautiful lanterns that they created at the recent lantern making workshops at the Leura Garage

Over the last few weeks The Leura Garage has hosted 2 Lantern Making Workshops! We love the creative buzz of the children and are looking forward to our last workshop next Thursday. Only a few of the 30 places are left, so make sure you book in! Lanterns will be paraded at the Leura Christmas Festival on the 16th of December

Come and join us at the Leura Garage for this years Lantern Making Workshops!
Children aged 4-12 can enjoy a few hours of craft to create their own lantern masterpiece.
The lanterns can be showcased at the Leura Christmas Festival Lantern Parade on the 16th of December.
Prizes will be awarded for the best lantern in each category on the night (age 4-6, 7-9, 10-12)

When: 1st Dec, 8th Dec and 15th Dec.
Time: 3pm - 5pm
Where: The Leura Garage
Who: Kids ages 4 -12 Children (Must be accompanied by an adult. Max 3 kids per adult.)
Cost: $15 per child, includes full lantern kit & drinks and nibbles at the Leura Garage.

Proceeds will be donated to the Leura Village Association and will contribute to the Christmas Festival.

Staff appreciation post 👏👏 We applaud our Leura Garage Team for their consistent effort in giving our guests a great 'service with a smile' over this last holiday period. Whilst most of the team have never experienced such high volume of customers, we are proud of their endurance in giving genuine, warm, quality and customer focused service and putting the training and the Leura Garage Way into action. The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across the state. Judges anonymously visit the venues to determine the restaurant/café winners. The scores are based on the entire dining experience from food to the customer service experienced when the judges anonymously dine.
