It might not be the prettiest cake in the mountains… but our sticky ginger cake is here to win hearts (and warm tummies)! Spicy, sweet, and a little bit scruffy — kind of like your favourite bushwalking buddy.

Best enjoyed fireside, where the crackle of the flames meets the comforting kick of ginger. And hey — ginger has medicinal qualities, so technically… it's health food, right?

FOUND: ONE VERY SPECIAL SOCK
We’ve become the temporary custodians of a very important sock here at Freudian Sip. It was left yesterday on our back deck by a delightful local family — two gorgeous kiddos in tow. The older one? An absolute legend. We had a top-tier conversation about insects (naturally), as I showed off our kids' books.

Mum had the most beautiful titian hair, and I remember the little one was eagerly waiting for aunt and baby cousin to visit over the weekend. Honestly, it was one of those joyful encounters that make my whole day — talking to your brilliant, curious children is one of the best parts of this job.

Now, as a mother of four, I know the chaos of the mysterious single sock. We only have two teenagers left at home, but I swear if you went digging in our lost sock tub, you'd probably find a baby sock from 27 years ago, I think we currently own more single socks than we do pairs.
So please — help us reunite this lovely sock with its lovely family. It’s the little things, isn’t it?

(Also: sock is safe, warm, and has been given a baby cino while it waits. We take our custodianship responsibilities seriously.)
