Samuel Pepy's Cafe

Samuel Pepy's Cafe Samuel Pepys Cafe
: Where nostalgia dances with mismatched crockery, friendly staff hum old tunes, and gluten-free delights warm your soul.

It’s different visiting Samuel Pepys. To begin you notice the atmosphere, deliberately laid back in an “I’ve gone to visit my family” kind of way. Nice tunes, vintage furniture, mismatched crockery, friendly staff, and really, really good 100% Gluten-Free food.

This is what happens when Hawthorn Football Club comes to town . We are a 90 seater cafe, and today we are full inside . Its only 10 degrees outside but the tourists need to eat.
So the nanna rugs showed their worth . Can't believe Cafes/Restaurants/Pubs and bars are going to lose this in the off season. "Make good choices"

🇯🇵 Ryan might be in Japan, but the muffin trays wait for no man...
This week, Finn has stepped up to keep the Apple & Pear Crumble Muffin tradition alive while our resident Muffin Man is away.
Don't worry Ryan, we're looking after things. Mostly.

His Majesty has generously given everyone a day off.....and for once, we're taking him up on the offer.
Samuel Pepys Cafe will be closed tomorrow for the King's Birthday Public Holiday.
No coffee.
No breakfast.
No toasties.
Frankly, we're not sure how the Kingdom will cope.
We'll be back Tuesday morning, fully caffeinated and ready to resume our duties serving the good people of Launceston.
Enjoy the long weekend, Your Majesties.

On this day in 1703, Samuel Pepys himself shuffled off this mortal coil.
Which honestly feels like a perfectly reasonable excuse for coffee, cake and a little storytelling.
Lucky for us, his name — and his flair for documenting life’s chaos — lives on daily here in Launnie.
Raise a cup for old Sammy today ☕📖

Heads up Launnie… it’s going to be a BIG weekend
With the V8s in town and lots of visitors around, we’re expecting things to get a little lively at Pepys
If you’re planning on joining us for breakfast, brunch or lunch, we’d definitely recommend giving us a quick call and booking ahead to save disappointment

Good coffee, good food and probably at least one table passionately discussing lap times over eggs benedict 😂

Well… these may need to happen again
Normally our muffin cabinet leans sweet — but the kitchen went rogue and baked savoury vegetarian muffins instead.
And honestly? They are outrageously good.
Golden cheesy tops, fluffy centres, proper savoury comfort food energy and absolutely perfect if you’re grabbing breakfast on the run with coffee in hand.
Available out front today until they disappear (which we suspect may not take long)

Running a cafe means getting to meet some pretty wonderful people… and we’ve just gained some lovely new neighbours 📚💚

If you haven’t discovered Quixotic Books yet, you’ll find them tucked right next to Samuel Pepys Cafe & Paddy Pallin — and honestly, it’s a dangerous little spot for book lovers 😄

Pop in and say hello at Quixotic humans and exactly the kind of independent small business we love seeing in Launnie.

Pop in and say hello at Quixotic Books … just maybe don’t disappear for 30 minutes mid-shift like Terri did 😄

One of our beautiful crew (Em) found a little message out the front for Mother’s Day 🍂🤎

To the mums, step-mums, grandmas, mother figures, bonus mums, exhausted mums, ones that can't be with their mums, dog mums and the ones carrying memories today…

We see you.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Pepys.

Final day of Agfest…

Pace yourself.

Start with something decent, then go negotiate with tractors and fencing like the legend you are.

Doing Agfest first?

We’ll see you after.

When the dust settles (and you’ve had one too many sausage sizzles), we’ve got:
— real chairs
— proper coffee
— food that doesn’t come in a wrapper

You’ve earned it.
