Hey there everyone,
After nearly 10 years we have made the extremely emotional decision to not renew the lease at 13 North Terrace. As such, we wanted to share with everyone that we will be closing the doors of Driftwood Restaurant as of the Sunday 29th November 2026.
Ruth and Stephen want to thank all of you supporting and dining with us over the last decade. This restaurant has been our whole life during this time and we feel so privileged to have been a part of the celebrations, birthdays, births, memoriams, wakes, anniversaries, weddings/receptions, baby showers, club dinners, fundraisers, cheeky wh***ey while walking the dog, and the quiet reflective lunches that we have been able to provide.
To all the staff: Yes! All of you! THANKYOU!!! We acknowledge that you have all played a roll in shaping the successes we have accomplished. Restaurants don’t run themselves and we couldn’t have done it without you. We genuinely wish everyone the best of futures, wherever that takes you!
Thank you also to all of our suppliers. You have provided us with the best and freshest products over the years that we have been proud to process and showcase throughout our menu and wine/beverage lists.
Ruth and Stephen are both crushed by having to make this decision and we hope that you will come and find us elsewhere in the Tasmanian hospitality sector in the near future.
We love you all.
