Some staff come and go… and then there are the ones who become part of your story. ❤️
Madi was our very first.
She started with us at just 15 years old — the very first person we employed when we began this crazy journey.
She started out as a dishy: hardworking, determined and never afraid to get stuck into whatever needed doing.
Before long, she was learning the bar on quiet nights, patiently waiting for the day she could officially get behind it.
And when she finally turned 18, Madi became my right-hand woman behind the bar.
Over the years, we’ve watched that 15-year-old girl grow into the incredible young woman she is today.
We’ve watched her do extraordinary things around this pub, step up when we needed her, work her backside off, make us laugh until our stomachs hurt, and become someone we could always count on.
But somewhere along the way, Madi became so much more than an employee.
She became part of our family.
To our girls, she’ll always be Aunty Mads. ❤️
And I think that says more about what she means to us than any staff appreciation post ever could.
Last night, Madi worked her final shift with us, and saying goodbye to this chapter hurts more than we can put into words.
From the 15-year-old dishy who took a chance on us at the very beginning, to the woman who became such a huge part of our pub, our lives and our family — thank you, Madi.
Thank you for growing with us.
Thank you for backing us.
Thank you for every busy shift, every laugh, every memory and every moment in between.
The pub simply won't be the same without you.
You may have clocked off for the last time, but you'll never really leave us.
You'll always be our first employee.
You'll always be my right-hand woman.
You'll always be Aunty Mads.
And most importantly, you'll always be family.
We are so unbelievably proud of you, and we can't wait to see where life takes you next.
We love you so much, Madi. ❤️
Thank you for being such a huge part of our story.
You'll be forever missed. 🥹❤️
