2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards Finalists Announced

Destination North Coast, in partnership with NSW Tourism Association, is proud to reveal the 43 finalists in the 2026 North Coast Regional Tourism Awards.

The Awards celebrate the innovation, resilience and dedication of the North Coast tourism industry, showcasing operators who consistently deliver exceptional visitor experiences while contributing to the growth and success of the regional visitor economy.

This year's finalists across the full region represent the breadth and diversity of the North Coast tourism offering, spanning accommodation, attractions, tours, festivals and events, food and drink experiences, ecotourism and more.

The 2026 North Coast Tourism Symposium is set to be held on 30 July 2026 in Coffs Harbour and is shaping up to be this year's must-attend tourism industry event.

The 2026 program, themed From Vision to Visitor Ready: Distinctive Places, Shared Future, features Karen Jones (Destination NSW), John O'Neill and Dr Meredith Wray (DNC), Emily Elliott (Tourism Australia), Stewart Moore (EarthCheck), Victoria Moxey (Office of the 24hr Commissioner), Michael Lockman (Big Banana Fun Park), Clark Webb (Wajaana Yaam Adventure Tours) and many more.

Delegates are encouraged to make the most of the event networking opportunities, including the Welcome Event at The Big Banana Fun Park on Wednesday evening, followed by the North Coast Regional Tourism Awards Gala at Pacific Bay Resort after the Symposium.

It was wonderful to welcome Trailfinders travel agents from the UK to The Tweed late last week. The group met with Industry Engagement Manager Amy Colli for dinner at Fins Restaurant

During the day they'd experienced the Northern Rivers Rail Trail with Better By Bike OZ, had lunch at Husk Farm Distillery and enjoyed a wellness experience with Tim at Watersports Guru

NEW 'NORTHERN RIVERS TRAVELLER' GUIDE

The inaugural 'Northern Rivers Traveller' guide has launched in partnership with councils across the region and local publisher Adhere Marketing, showcasing the people, places and experiences that make the Northern Rivers of NSW unique. The first edition will see 25,000 copies inserted into Australian Traveller’s ‘100 Best Aussie Towns’ edition from 10 May, helping reach travel audiences nationwide, with a further 25,000 copies distributed throughout the region. Featuring everything from beaches and rainforests to local food, arts and culture, the guide encourages visitors to slow down, stay longer and explore more of the Northern Rivers.

THAT'S A WRAP ON ATE26

The Tweed Tourism Co team of Danielle, Robbie and Amy attended ATE (Australian Tourism Exchange) in Adelaide last week. We were accompanied by Tweed operators Tropical Fruit World , Pipit Restaurant, Husk Farm Distillery, Better by Bike and The Hinterland Collection as well as our neighbours Crystal Castle and Marvell Hotel. Wonderful to see the Reveling + Kiff & Culture team and Localing Tours crew championing the region as well.

There's growing interest in The Tweed! Many international travel agents were aware of where The Tweed is located and those that were new to it were keen to know about the unique features of the region. The team will be working to follow up the great conversations and connect our trade-ready operators with new opportunities.

It was a joy for the Tweed Tourism team to host a vibrant group of arts, culture and lifestyle journalists in The Tweed last weekend. A jam-packed famil schedule saw the journalists visits some of our key venues such as the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, Tweed Regional Museum , M-Arts Precinct alongside stunning dining at Tweed River House , Apex Dining, Husk Farm Distillery and Halcyon House.

This timely famil celebrates our diverse creative arts scene ahead of the LAVA Arts Festival 26 - 28 June 2026.
