Okay, I would like to thank a few people who helped out over the last couple of weeks, especially on Monday two weeks ago when the little incident happened.
Firstly, my son. He was the first one on the scene, grabbed help, and was somewhat composed, even though I had to yell at him to settle down a little.
My daughter came in, and Irish immediately called for help. She called Triple Zero for an ambulance straight away, then called Wayne to ask for Jane's phone number to see if she was available to provide first assistance. Wayne then called Jane, and I think within 10 minutes Jane had arrived.
Thanks so much, Jane. It was good to have you there and to know you were there to help and assist. Wayne came around pretty much straight away as well—I can't quite remember if he arrived before or after Jane. Wayne also brought a care package with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
My son stayed by my side the whole time, and Jane sat with me. Sorry, Jane, for yelling at you because I thought you were sitting on my arm. My arm was actually behind my back, but I felt it as though it was 90 degrees to my right, right where you were about to sit. Obviously it wasn't there, but I couldn't feel that at the time.
Everyone was great. Christian came in the ambulance with me. He was good. He wanted a suck on the green whistle too, but he wasn't allowed.
Caela, thank you, sweetheart. It was your first time experiencing something like this, and you jumped in a taxi, for God's sake, and came all the way to Wangaratta.
Even though the following procedures with the ambulance and hospital didn't go right, and there was a huge debacle over the next several days, the ambulance staff were actually very good. At Wangaratta Hospital, a few of the nurses were outstanding. Everything else was a bit of a balls-up.
The ambulance staff and the hospital staff down in Melbourne, several days later, were excellent. The staff at Knox Hospital were excellent. The nurses looked after me very well, and the doctor was excellent. I'd also like to thank the doctor at Mansfield Hospital, who played a leading role in getting me transferred to Melbourne very quickly.
Steph, thank you very much.
Also plenty of offers for help and all the well wishes, thanks and Russell, secrets safe .
That's it for now. I'm sitting at home, waiting to get better, and looking forward to being able to use my right hand to use my bum gun again.
Thanks again, everyone..... and PubCat
