Kernot Food and Wine Store is a little heritage store built in 1911 nestled in the hills of South Gippsland, about 6km off Bass Highway. Looking back at the week... all we can say is THANK YOU! ❤️

Another week done and dusted, and we are so grateful for everyone who has walked through our doors, shared a meal, enjoyed a drink, listened to some live music and continued to support our little store.

But while we’re looking back and saying thank you, we’re also looking forward, because there is plenty happening at Kernot over the next few weeks!

🎶 Last Week of August
We’re finishing the month off with the wonderful Vintage Vets joining us for another Sunday of live music, good food and great company.

👨 Father’s Day – Sunday 6th September
The following weekend, it’s all about Dad! With breakfast, two lunch sittings, live music and our Father’s Day specials, bookings are already filling up.

🍕🍹 Bottomless Pizza & Cocktail Night – Saturday 12th September
And then we’re bringing a little bit of the city to our small country town! A 90-minute session of bottomless woodfired pizza and cocktails, with two sittings available. This one is bookings only, so get your crew organized!

Honestly... it’s all happening here at Kernot!

So whether you're joining us for live music, bringing Dad out for a special meal or getting the group together for a night of bottomless pizza and cocktails, we can't wait to see you over the next few weeks.

We’re already seeing tables fill up for Sunday 6th September, with a special day planned for all the dads, grandads, poppas and father figures.

The Kernot HALL is hosting a Trivia Night Tomorrow and it's shaping up to be a fantastic evening full of laughs, friendly competition, and support for a great cause.

Please note: This event is being held at the Kernot Hall, not at Kernot Store.

We’re reaching out and asking our wonderful customers, locals and the wider community for help.

Stollen Car white 2023 Nissan sports coupe. It was spotted in Loch and has now reportedly been seen around Wonthaggi. The vehicle has had numerous number plate changes, so please keep an eye out.

We know what small communities can do when they come together, and we're hoping our amazing local network can help us keep an eye out.

If you see the vehicle, please do not approach it or put yourself at risk. If you can, take note of the location, time, direction of travel and any details you can safely gather.

Please message our Facebook or social media pages, call us, and report any sightings to the police. The more eyes we have out there, the more chances we have.

Winter might be settling in outside, but things are heating up here at Kernot Store.

Our woodfired oven is burning hot, turning out delicious, cheesy pizzas fresh to order, while inside the Coonara is glowing, keeping the dining room warm, cosy, and inviting. It's the perfect place to escape the cold and settle in for a proper country meal.

One of this season's favourites has to be our Slow Roasted Pork Shank. Cooked low and slow until it's fall-off-the-bone tender, then served with creamy mashed potato, seasonal winter vegetables, and finished with a rich red wine and garlic butter sauce. It's comfort food at its very best and exactly what these chilly winter days call for.

A much-loved regular here at Kernot Store, Hazel never misses a chance to pop in and say hello. She arrives with perfect manners, greets everyone like an old friend.

Whether she's soaking up the country air, supervising the front porch, or patiently waiting for someone to tell her she's a good girl (which she definitely is), Hazel always brightens our day.

We absolutely love seeing our furry regulars become part of the Kernot family, and Hazel has certainly earned her place.

Sunday 6th September is fast approaching, and we're getting ready to celebrate all the amazing dads, grandads, poppas, father figures, and the special blokes in our lives.

This year we're making a weekof it, because let's be honest... one day just isn't enough! Just ask them

🎶 The Vintage Vets will be joining us on Father's Day from 12pm to 3pm, bringing all your favourite tunes to make the afternoon even more memorable.

We'll be taking bookings for:

🍳 Breakfast seating open till 11am
🕚 First Lunch Sitting - 11:15am till 1 pm
🕐 Second Lunch Sitting - 1:15pm till close

Bookings are essential and can be made by:
