Many thanks to the Kentucky NSW Co-Op for all your efforts to raise funds to purchase the store. Rod and I appreciate all your hard work. Some questions have been raised about the postal services and prior to closing we advised customers of the new procedures regarding postal services, as did Australia Post by mail. Parcels and letters which are unable to be delivered to your mail box may be collected at either Australia Post in Uralla or Australia Post in Walcha by making a phone call to Walcha Post Office after receiving your hardcopy notification. Customers also received a mailout from Australia Post about an AusPost APP in which you can redirect your parcels to the Post Office of your choice. Many thanks to Australia Post Uralla and Australia Post Walcha for their help and support during this transition. Should any of the local community wish to take up the Kentucky Community Postal Agency please contact us at the store and we will put you in touch with the Agency Manager, who will help you with the application process, and if your application and premises are approved by Australia Post, the manager will arrange Australia Post training.

Rod and I love living in Kentucky and love our little community. We are proud of what we have achieved over the years however closing the business leaves us with a somewhat bitter sweet feeling. It’s sad to think that Kentucky has not welcomed a new family to the village or that the Co-Op has not yet succeeded in their quest to purchase the store. We would like to thank you all for your support over the years and wish a heartfelt goodbye to the community, all of our wonderful staff, and our return visitors from over the New England and further afield. To my brother Bill and sister- in- law Fay a big thank you for your help and support, especially in those early years. It has been a privilege and a hoot to serve you all over the past 16 years as well as developing friendships with so many of you. In some ways we know you and your families so well, and being in Kentucky is like being part of one big extended family. Sadly some dear locals have passed on and some have moved on, but each is a part of Kentucky’s history in some small way. We have made Kentucky home for our family over the years and we will still be living here, but sadly it’s time for us to move on from the business, to new adventures! So if you see us around the village or in town, make sure you stop for a chat and a how are you going!

Last Ride to Kentucky !!
Vic Hatfield and the Wednesday Riders from Tamworth rode up to Kentucky yesterday for the last time after many trips over the years. A big thank you to all the riders for their support. Stay safe and happy riding !!
