Been pretty quiet here as we had a claim for compensation in with council regarding the 3 MONTH construction works that basically collapsed our business. Just received notice that our claim has been denied.
Reasons given were they put a note through the letterbox 2 weeks prior and they managed to keep the footpath somewhat open over the period. They sent through these photos to prove what a great job they did. I particularly like the one out the front of Kazbah with the digger showing the beautiful amenity for diners had they just been a little more adventurous and willing to put up with the dust and noise.
So nothing to see here apparently (certainly no people to see enjoying their coffee on the street in the photos). We were also chastised in the response for not being more grateful about how wonderful the street is now - except we are no longer there to enjoy it…
So what do you think people. Is this a fair outcome and explanation based on your recollection of those months? Did you feel it was just business as usual? What do you think we should do from here? The easy path is just to give in…
