LA Moon is becoming Yard by LA Moon. 🌿🌙

We’ve been a little quiet lately, but there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes.

When we started thinking about our next chapter, we knew we wanted to create more than just another café.

The name Yard came from a simple idea — we wanted the space to feel a little like your own backyard.

A place to slow down in the sunshine, enjoy a good coffee, share some food, catch up with friends, let the kids soak up the day, and have your dog right there beside you.

Relaxed, warm and easy.

That’s the feeling we want Yard by LA Moon to be about.

We’re bringing everything we loved about LA Moon into this new chapter — the food, the coffee, the people and the sense of community — while creating a fresh space with a little more sunshine and a little more room to stay awhile.

And while the new café is taking shape, LA Moon Catering is still running, with catering and food orders continuing behind the scenes.

So no, LA Moon hasn’t disappeared.

It’s simply growing into something new.

Same heart. New chapter.

To our wonderful LA Moon family,

Thank you for your love and support over the years. Because of you, LA Moon has grown into something truly special.

Our current café will be open until the end of this month, after which we’ll be temporarily closed as we prepare our new home.

We’re excited to welcome you to Yard by LA Moon at Kardinya Park Shopping Centre, with our reopening expected around September (subject to construction progress).

Golden, crispy prawns on toast 🍤
Crunchy on the outside, tender inside,
served with fresh greens and creamy sauce —
simple, comforting, and satisfying.

Why is it called coffin bread?
Because it looks like a little coffin.
The thick toast is hollowed out, deep-fried, and topped with a “lid.”
The name sounds bold, but the filling is warm and comforting.
