Some great things happening in Kaniva and Beyond!
There’s just one week left of the school holidays, and there’s plenty happening around Kaniva and the district to make the most of it.
Here are a few highlights from the calendar:
THURSDAY 1 OCTOBER
🖼️ 11am – Wiregrass Heritage Trail Walking Tour
Discover the stories, characters and humour behind Percy Leason’s famous Wiregrass cartoons on a free guided walk through Kaniva’s main street.
🌿 11.30am – Kaniva Wetlands Play Day
Join characters from Wombat Stew on a quest to help Dingo create the ultimate Wombat Stew! A free pop-up playgroup at the Kaniva Wetlands & Fauna Park, with stories, activities and outdoor fun for children and their families.
🍽️ 11am – Seniors Day Out
A day of good food, company and information about WWHS Social Support in Kaniva. $12 per person. Bookings essential.
FRIDAY 2 OCTOBER
🌷 10.15am – Garden Group
Enjoy a spring garden visit to Heather Wallis’ garden, with morning tea and gardening tips. Free, but bookings are essential.
SATURDAY 3 OCTOBER
🔥 Kaniva Fire Brigade Group Exercise
A major training and preparedness exercise involving Kaniva’s trucks and volunteers.
🐴 Goroke Show
A full day of country show fun including horses, Stockman’s Challenge, sheep races, shearing, kids’ activities, live music, food and plenty more.
🛍️ Nhill Town Garage Sale – 9am–4pm
A town-wide garage sale with bargains, market stalls, BBQs, a furniture sale and other first-of-the-month activities.
🌸 Ladies Spring Fling – 5pm
Dress to impress for an evening of live music, drinks, nibbles, games and raffles at the Kaniva Community Hub. $50, with proceeds going to Kaniva Kindergarten.
