Exploring what’s next in mining

What does a career in mining actually look like? That was the focus of the Newmont Corporation Tanami Recruitment Drive in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), where MLG joined other industry employers to connect with local job seekers and talk about opportunities in the resources sector.

From apprenticeships and entry-level roles through to training and development pathways, the day gave attendees the chance to ask questions, meet people working in the industry and get a better understanding of where their skills and interests could take them.

For MLG, it was a great chance to have conversations with the local community and showcase the range of careers available across our operations.

Thanks to Newmont and Saltbush Social Enterprises for creating an opportunity to connect industry with people looking to take their next step.

Operations are underway at Pioneer Dome.

MLG is now on the ground and delivering at DEVELOP Global’s Pioneer Dome Lithium Project in the Eastern Goldfields.

Following MLG being awarded the ~$70 million integrated mining and crushing contract, our team has commenced initial mining and civil works at the Cade Pit, marking an important early milestone in the project.

These first photos from site showcase MLG’s integrated service model in action — bringing together our people, equipment and operational capability to support the safe and efficient delivery of the project.

A strong start by everyone involved, and we look forward to continuing to work closely with Develop Global Limited as activities ramp up on site.

Every day, a little boy named Teddy video-calls his dad at our MLG Tanami site.

His dad Matthew has worked with MLG for over three years. After shift, he walks around holding his phone up so Teddy can see the trucks, the machines, the gear — even the emergency eyewash stations, which are a firm favourite. To someone passing by it might look unusual. To Teddy, it's the best part of his day.

Teddy is four. He lives with a rare and severe form of Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy (DEE). He has more than 70 seizures every single day. His epilepsy is drug-resistant, there is no cure, and over time he will lose skills he has already learned.

So when his mum, Sarah, asked whether Teddy might see the machinery his dad works on “while he still has the ability to remember these moments” — we knew we wanted to make it happen, and the team at CJD went all in to help us do it.

MLG and the incredible team at CJD Equipment hosted Teddy, his little sister Evelyn and their family for a VIP experience at their facility in Perth. Teddy toured the workshop and watched, wide-eyed, as Kenworth trucks are built from the ground up. He climbed into the cabs, pressed every button, sounded the horns (more than a few times), and sat in the race cars. In Sarah's words, the day gave Teddy something priceless — “a chance to forget about hospitals, tests and seizures and simply be a little boy.”

We're sharing Teddy's story with his family's blessing, because most people have never heard of DEE — yet it affects around 1 in every 600 people, with roughly 300 children newly diagnosed in Australia each year.

There is currently a Senate inquiry into epilepsy in Australia, recognising the urgent need for more research, better treatments and real support for the families living with it. For families facing DEE, that support barely exists today. Awareness has never mattered more.

In Sarah's words: “If sharing Teddy's story helps just one person better understand epilepsy and DEE, or gives another family hope that they're not alone, then it will be worth it.”

To the team at CJD Equipment— thank you. Your compassion and willingness to go above and beyond turned an idea into a day this family will treasure forever.

And to Matt, Sarah, Teddy and Evelyn — thank you for letting us be part of your world. You've given us far more than we gave you. 💜

There's no substitute for being on the ground with your team.

Last week, the MLG leadership team made the trip out to Evolution Mining's Mungari site to spend time with our people and catch up with the client face to face. We fired up the BBQ, shared a feed, and connected with the team.

It was also a great chance to connect with our crushing team, who recently mobilised to site and have hit the ground running.

Getting leadership out to site isn't just about visibility — it's about staying connected to the people doing the work, understanding the challenges first-hand, and reinforcing that quality outcomes come from strong relationships and genuine teamwork.

A big thank you to the team on site and to Evolution Mining for the continued partnership. Days like this remind us that great results are built on great people.

Safety is more than a metric. It's a commitment we make to each other, every day.

We're proud to celebrate 1,000 days LTI Free at our Kalgoorlie Workshops, a milestone that reflects the dedication, vigilance and care shown by our people across our operations.

To recognise this incredible achievement, our team came together for a BBQ attended by members of our Board and Executive Leadership Team, who joined us in acknowledging the collective effort behind this outstanding result.

This milestone is a testament to the strong safety culture built by our teams, where everyone takes ownership, looks out for one another and continually strives to work safer every day.

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to this achievement. While we're proud of how far we've come, our focus remains firmly on ensuring every person goes home safe at the end of every shift.

At MLG, we're always looking for smarter ways to deliver value for our clients. That's why we're excited to partner with Mick Murray Welding in a 50/50 joint venture to develop and commercialise next-generation hybrid-electric road train technology.

Designed for the demanding conditions of the Australian mining and resources sector, this technology has the potential to deliver meaningful benefits for our clients, including reduced fuel consumption, lower operating costs, improved fleet efficiency, and a reduction in emissions. By enhancing the performance of heavy haulage operations while supporting sustainability objectives, this innovation represents a practical step forward for the industry.

The partnership brings together MLG's extensive operational experience in bulk haulage and mining services with Mick Murray Welding's specialist engineering and manufacturing expertise. Together, we are investing in solutions that improve productivity, strengthen operational resilience, and help our clients meet the evolving demands of modern mining operations.

This initiative reflects MLG's core value of innovation in action, and our commitment to delivering smarter, more sustainable outcomes for the industries we support. We look forward to sharing further updates as the project progresses.
