THIS DAY IN KALAMUNDA HISTORY 🥾🌳

1 September 2017 — A New Look for the Bibbulmun Track

Nine years ago today, the upgraded Bibbulmun Track Northern Terminus and Link Trail was officially opened in Kalamunda.

The upgrade gave the northern end of the famous walking trail a revitalised entrance and improved its connection with the centre of Kalamunda.

A striking feature of the upgrade was the addition of the Bibbulmun Spirit Poles, created by Noongar artist Sharyn Egan, with carving by Gordon Mitchell. The artwork provides a distinctive and meaningful welcome to walkers beginning — or finishing — their journey in Kalamunda.

The upgraded terminus was officially opened by then Kalamunda Mayor Andrew Waddell on 1 September 2017.

Nine years later, it has become a familiar Kalamunda landmark and the backdrop to countless photographs marking the beginning and end of a Bibbulmun adventure.

DUTY MANAGER

The Best Drop Tavern in Kalamunda requires a NIGHT DUTY MANAGER.
Our small but busy tavern, with a strong food trade requires a closing Duty Manager. There is approximately 25 - 35 (3-5 shifts) hours up for grabs as a DM, all nights.

What we offer:
Casual HIGA Award Level 5 wages
Uniform if you wish. I’m quite happy for my DMs to be in civvies.
Ample free parking
A meal on Duty Manager shifts
Reasonably early outs (by pub standards) in the mid week
A fantastic easy-going clientele, mostly older and families, and a great bunch of regulars.
Seriously, this is one of the easiest pubs you will ever work in

You’ll Need To Bring:
Great availability across weekends, nights and Public Holidays
A can-do attitude
A sound knowledge of both food and bar operations; we have a very strong food trade, so strong food experience in a pub/tavern/casual dining setting will be highly valued
Your best banter!
Your Approved Managers card
Your Food Handlers Safety Certificate
Experience in a similar role
Your own transport as public transport up here is pretty awful…

He went with box number 8... and as hard as Brooke tried to wrestle that box from him, Bob was having nothing to do with it.
