We are saddened by the fact the GourMay Mary Valley 2024 festival which was to be held Honeybee Wellness Retreat has to be cancelled due to lack of ticket sales…we understand most people purchase tickets last minute but sadly that doesn’t help to organise everything.
Sorry to all those whom were looking forward to Taste of Croatia catering the food side of things and I personally would like to apologise to all our patrons and friends for the short notice in advertising…a customer brought it to my attention…genuine apologies 😞

Onward and upwards …unless some of you had a huge party that would make up the numbers? We were making all the favourites…mini Sarma,Tuscan chicken salad, pork kebabs (raznjice) and more…they were all
to be finger foods as per GourMay Mary Valley’s request but we (as true Europeans) had a food a plenty organised!

Please stay posted for Taste Of Croatia updates, as surely this kitchen will get completed so we may be up and running 🙂

Soo … Xmas is around the corner and I’m sure we are all in prep mode!

My Xmas day is here with our family and friends. We have always had a very simple rule for Xmas… No man is left behind or alone on Xmas, hence why between two days and approx 40 people (over two days) our menu is as follows for lunch:-

Mezza, cheese and fruit plate (to be made by daughter and her beau)
Daughter-in-law Bella making a nibbly too
(that’s it as we shall have approx 24kgs of meat!)

On the spit shall be whole large turkey, lamb leg and rolled pork all almost 6kg each
Turkey with a cranberry sauce
Lamb with a mint and honey baste
Pork stuffed with garlic and Rosemary

Cro potato salad
Cro Cabbage salad
Walnut and spinach salad (Tyler making)
Haluski- spek cooked with cabbage and home made pasta
Tuscan Panzanella salad
Sataraš (bbq’d onion, tomato and red capsicum then mashed to remain chunky) to have over chicken thigh… then melted mozzarella
Garlic butter prawns (for Boxing Day only)

3kg of our Cevape! With cabbage salad Of course 🙂
4kg of marinated chicken thigh to be bbq’d for Tuscan chicken
Potato bake

Finally my beautiful Mira is making a mixed plate of sweets (she’s also doing the cabbage salad)
Fruit salad
Sweet burek
Ginger bread cookies (my daughter ivana making)

I’d love to hear/read what others are making/doing on Xmas day

Back to prep!… hmm maybe a spinach risotto too hmm

Good morning everyone, and welcome to the weekend!!! Yay

Certainly hope to see as many of you as possible today - only open for three hours from 9am to 12pm whilst the markets are running. Would be a delight to see you and would love the support to kick things off.

Cro Brekky Burgers, Burek, Cevape Rolls, and a selection of sweets/cakes/biscuits, but baby steps to get things back up and running.

If we don’t see you, love you all and hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year break. No doubt catch up in 2024!!!

Hey beautiful people!
We miss you 😞
We are not set up as yet at our new location…shhh Honeybee Wellness Retreat @ Kandanga, 20 Hasthorpe rd…However, they have markets this Saturday 9th December from 9am to 12 noon and we shall be there. Not a full setup, or even half of one BUT we shall have a small selection of our dessert display fridge, plus lepinje bread rolls, and burek (haven’t decided which one yet).
Come down for a look see at our future location and beautiful 25 acres of serenity! Be as loud and proud as you like as we have no neighbours hehe

We shall only be doing our Cro brekky rolls (eggs bacon cheese and cevape) and Cevape rolls (cevape with traditional cabbage salad) aside from what I’ve already ,mentioned... ok maybe Cro melts with our triple smoked pork neck…maybe spek (triple smoked pork belly), but other than… hehe

Very exciting, but please bring cash, we may not have eftpos available yet…doing our best to have it up and running!

Markets will be eclectic! Some things made by artists, some local free range eggs, local honey, fresh produce and the list goes on!
Kids will be entertained as there’s soo many activities…bring a ball to kick around.

Or maybe just come to hassle us 🙂
We promised we’d be back 🙂
