Tea canisters!
It sometimes feels strange to be called a café because we're about so much more than coffee. For example, we put a lot of effort in selecting our teas and we love our ever-expanding collection of tea canisters. Every trip to Japan ends with a new addition to the set! We source our teas from multiple places. We love exploring new flavours.
🍵Of course, our big star is usually sencha, the Japanese green tea. We buy sencha from various tea brands when we're in Japan (and what a difficult choice it is!) or ask family/friends to send us their favourite types. Every month or so we open a new bag of sencha. It's a great chance to compare several types. Ask us about our current one!
☕️But it's not just about sencha. Black teas are also such an exciting world to explore. We've been trying different types of blends (Prince of Wales is a current favourite) and we also enjoy single-origin teas such as Keemun. And let's not forget hojicha, a perfect tea if you need a low-caffeine drink. It's made from roasted green tea leaves and there's nothing like it. Try it if you haven't! We also rotate our hojicha selection and the current one is grown and roasted in Tokyo (an unusual place for cultivating tea, making it quite unique).
Oh, and don't get us started on matcha. We'll leave that for another post...
