‘Bandicoot on a log’ by Glover Prize winning artist, Michael McWilliams, is one of the most beloved paintings on display at Landscape Restaurant and Grill.

McWilliams' accessible and often humorous paintings celebrate Tasmanian’s natural environment. By painting the small, marsupial omnivore native to Australia in the foreground with a fox lurking behind to represent colonial-introduced pests and felled trees strewn around, the artist gently asks the viewer to consider manmade threats to nature.

Earlier this year an exclusive exhibition of 100 pieces of McWilliams’ work at Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery drew the largest visitor numbers in the history of the gallery. We are proud to serve steaks at Landscape Restaurant and Grill. The Hammond family’s approach to ethical farming and their commitment to quality make them a perfect fit for our kitchen. In the early 1990s, the Hammond Family realised that the pristine coastal environment of their farm on Robbins Island with its temperate climate and clean air, was the best place to breed Waygu beef.
