‘Niko’ is a new pop up project by Rosie and Natsuki.

“Japanese fruit sandos are a beloved treat for tourists visiting Japan right now. While they’re gaining popularity on the mainland, they’re still quite uncommon here in Hobart! We wanted people here to experience this without having to travel to Japan.

Our concept is combining Tasmanian fruits with Japanese food culture. For this first edition, we’re focusing on strawberries. Down the track, we’d love to experiment with seasonal Tasmanian produce like blueberries, blackberries, and cherries!”

A dear friend, artist, and mum of two, Corinna Howell exhibits a four-piece painting set, Water, Rhythm, Reset, Belly Breath, telling her stories of motherhood.

“Taking myself into water with my kids resets me too. For the moment I’m reaching out for a life-line and there isn’t a hand to hold, water holds me for a while.”

At the same time, a limited number of fine art prints are available on our retail shelf.

Kaffa () from Oslo, Norway won two roasting competition titles in 2026: the Nordics Best Roaster and the Norwegian Coffee Roasting Championship.

Something special about the Nordics Best Roaster competition is that coffee roasted by the finalists are evaluated by both fellow finalists and thg judges. In the final round, competitors roast two coffees: one supplied by the organisers, and another selected by the finalists themselves, with a green coffee cost of US$45/kg or less, helping to prevent the competition from becoming an arms race over expensive green beans.
My line-up offers a broader range of choices, from medium roasts with enough intensity to work well in milk-based coffees, to light Nordic roasts showcasing bright acidity and a clean cup profile.
Among the light roast selections is an SL9 variety from Peru, sometimes referred to as “Inca Geisha”. While its flavour profile and leaf morphology may resemble Geisha, genetic studies conducted so far suggest that SL9 is more closely related to a group of Ethiopian legacy varieties.

nk wash painting exhibition by Shuguo Wang and Sean Wang

A combination of painting and calligraphy by Sean and his father, this exhibition pays homage to the artist Ba Da Shan Ren (1626–1705), a descendant of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The “silly” eyes of birds and fish in his paintings subtly reflect his strategy for survival during a time of political unrest. The Wangs’ paintings, interwoven with cursive calligraphy of two characters—repeatedly, “cry” and “laugh”—echo the life story of this distant artist.
