nk wash painting exhibition by Shuguo Wang and Sean Wang

A combination of painting and calligraphy by Sean and his father, this exhibition pays homage to the artist Ba Da Shan Ren (1626–1705), a descendant of the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. The “silly” eyes of birds and fish in his paintings subtly reflect his strategy for survival during a time of political unrest. The Wangs’ paintings, interwoven with cursive calligraphy of two characters—repeatedly, “cry” and “laugh”—echo the life story of this distant artist.

Hi everyone!

Our Easter hours this year will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 2pm, then closed on Monday. (And then I will have a long ‘weekend’ yeah!)

It’s good to see travellers coming to visit Tassie during Easter! We have two friends from HK visiting and staying with us so we’re having good time. I wish you all too!
