On the specials board this weekend:

Crispy pork hock with borlotti beans in a little double stock made from smoked pork & chicken bones & seaweed, croutons made from left over bread ends, a zippy little green sauce & anchovy mayonnaise made with only the best anchovies! A very moreish dish, perfect for these cooler days. Add a soft boiled egg and / or extra anchovies if you feel obliged.

This weeks hot sandwich is a lamb merguez sausage with preserved lemon labne made from sheep’s yogurt, marinated bullhorn peppers from , a little confit fennel & shallot, pickles & leaves. On while it lasts!

Local organic & biodynamic produce, seasonal cooking, Victorian wines and the best coffee in central Vic!

Lotte is open for dine in or take away all long weekend.

This time of year is when we fell in love with this area.

The waterfalls are beginning to flow spectacularly after the autumn and early winter rains, the hills are misty & the forests surrounding are full of fungi of every variety.

Pictured here is Trentham falls and Lalgambuk / Mt Franklin. Both minutes drive from us here in Hepburn Springs.

Plenty of great spots to enjoy a take away coffee & sandwich in our area, come get the locals tip!

Back to regular programming from 8am Saturday!

Plenty of organic, seasonal specials on the board this weekend, including this little roast purple cauliflower number with smoked almond tarrator, , pickled cayenne, parsley & lemon. It’s even vegan.

The waterfalls are beginning to flow again, this signals a change in season as the autumn rains begin to fill all the streams that have all but dried by the end of summer. Featured here is Loddon falls in the Hepburn shire. An excellent spot to enjoy a take away coffee and sandwich!

Our Welsh rarebit has been on the autumn menu for the last month or so. This will be its last weekend before we give the menu a refresh to reflect the produce that is available to us.

Some beautiful locally grown feijoas arrived today! Expect to see them in the form of jams and shrubs in the coming weeks.

Locally grown produce, seasonal cooking, Victorian wine, flowers and the best coffee north of the ring road.

SANDWICHES

We have upped our sandwich offering lately. Toasted sandwiches available on the take away menu ( 8am - 3pm ) for grab and go, as well as a rotating weekly hot sandwich, look to the black board for this weeks offering!

Pictured is recent evidence of the aforementioned.

1. Overnight ox tail, braised in lager. Ft. Celeriac remoulade, horseradish, fermented jalapeno butter, pickles & leaves. Hot sauce always available. On this week.

2. Two toasted sandwiches from the take away menu. Pictured is a Reuben with pastrami & a tuna melt. Cheddar & relish also available!

3. Crumbed chicken thigh, ranch, cayenne hot sauce, pickles @ cheese.

4. Fried pigs head terrine, HP sauce, pickles, cheese & white onion.

5. Hot goat roll. Goat shoulder braised overnight in white wine & aromats, smoked almond tarrator, whipped goats cheese from pickled daikon from , pickles. Leaves, verde.

6. Southern fried chicken thigh, hot honey, pickles & leaves.

7. Smoked ox tongue, Russian dressing, pickles, white onion.

8. Beer battered rockling, chunky tartare, cheese & leaves.

9. Chuck & brisket patty cooked on the chargrill, definitely not Big Mac sauce, cheese, pickles & white onion.

All sandwiches available dine in or take away.

We are on the hunt for passionate hospo professionals to join our team!

Front of house candidates will have a genuine love of warm & thoughtful service. An interest in coffee, wine and food is essential.

Kitchen candidates should be driven, clean and organised, with a passion for seasonal cooking and local produce. Applicants for the Sous Chef role will have experience in a similar position and environment. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute creatively to our offering.

Weekend availability is essential.

Remuneration will be based on experience.

We are celebrating the matriarchy this Mother’s Day, May 10.

3 courses + a glass of something bubbly on arrival for $89.
