O my golly... hasn't it been cold this week?
You'd think after more than 20 years of living in Ballarat I'd be used to winter by now, but honestly, this week has been a bit rough. Then again, maybe we were all a little spoilt by that extended summer we just had !

Either way, I get it. It's freezing cold outside.

That's exactly why we've been trying our hardest to make the café feel like a warm little escape from it all. The coffee machine is on, the cabinet is full of goodies, and there's a cosy spot waiting for you if you need somewhere to thaw out for a while, we are open until 3pm Wednesday - Friday and 4pm on weekends.

Ok… I’m a little bit excited about this one 😍
We’ve just had a Sweet As El cookie drop and her new flavour has landed… Burnt Butter Chai.

And let me tell you… this cookie is GOOD. Like rock your pants off good !

It’s soft, gooey, a little bit spicy, a little bit sugary, with that warm cinnamon smell, this cookie looks innocent but boy does it pack a punch !

Now… I would happily sit there and eat the whole lot myself, BUT apparently according to Angela and Sharna, I have to leave some for you lot.

Fair warning though… I couldn’t stop at one, so don’t blame me if the same thing happens to you....

And while we are talking treats… we’ve also got Sweet As El’s famous Lemon Slice, Kinder Surprise, Biscoff (ok… I may have eaten one of those too ) and don’t even get me started on the Chocolate Lava… especially warmed up with ice cream. Yummmmm 😍

Honestly… who else struggles to pick just one? Or is that just me?

Be quick before I eat them all....... OK my diet starts again next Monday !

Bit chilly out there this morning… so I think coffee just tastes better on days like this....
Sharna has been demonstrating her coffee art again (look at this 😍).
I always think there’s nothing nicer than stopping for 10 minutes, wrapping your hands around a warm coffee and just having a little breather before the week kicks in..... tell me why I hate Mondays, tell me why I hate Mondays. I want to shoot the whole day down.... (I will leave the singing for another time and place)

Tell me… are you a latte, cappuccino or hot chocolate or maybe a tea person to get you through your Mondays ?

If you feel like escaping the cold for a bit, pop in and say hi .... we have the coffee waiting ...... (minus the singing, unless you want Rani to sing for you. I have been told she not too bad at singing)......

Well… haven’t we got a bit happening today.
Sharna has been busy in the kitchen again and these breakfast wraps (pictured) are quickly becoming a favourite. She first made them on Wednesday and honestly… they’ve sold out every day since, so she must be doing something right !

We’ve also got Sharna’s famous homemade sausage rolls (Alissa’s recipe ❤️) , Cornish pasties are back in stock, Hollandaise toasties and of course the award-winning Shop 29 pies all ready to go.

Its a bit chilly out there today… 13 degrees and raining 🌧️ but it’s warm in here at the cafe.
We’ve even got some cosy throw rugs if you feel like sitting for a while and keeping those knees warm.

Pop in if you feel like getting out of the house for a drive, say hi, grab something yummy and warm up for a bit 🤎

My little pick-me-up? One of these breakfast rolls and a caramel latte made by Sharna 😍

Fresh each morning on a brioche roll with bacon, egg and cheese… and for me, add a bit of tomato relish and I know I’m going to be ok for the rest of the day.

Actually… these are good any time of the day, not just breakfast. And the best bit is you can add whatever sauce makes you happy. Tomato, BBQ, tomato relish, sweet chilli … or something completely different, the girls are always happy to help.

Apparently they’ve heard all the strange requests before..... do you have a favourite sauce or combinations of sauces ?

My Hubby covers everything with sweet chilli sauce ! Which I don't really get because you can't taste anything else!

Gosh Yeah ..... just because its Thursday ! We have lots more yummy flavours at the café. We even have fancy milkshakes, if you are a fancy type of person. We have big ones , we have small ones, ones that are over ice and some that have whipped cream on top! add a few sprinkles or maybe some fairy floss !

Either way , its Thursday .... live a little ! laugh a lot !

I swear ( the good swear words ) … Sweet As El cookies should come with a warning, One minute you’re just “having a look” and the next minute you’re trying to decide which one to take home! And just quietly… if you happen to grab one of El’s Chocolate Lava cookies ( El's latest special cookies , along with her Cherry Ripe cookies, sorry not pictured due to everyone eating them before we can snap a pic ) , warm it up and add a scoop of ice cream… now THAT is winter comfort all in one mouthful !
