WOW... WE SOLD OUT before lunch! 🤯🥧

Honestly, we weren't sure what to expect today.
It was our first test of our house-made gourmet pies, and you absolutely blew us away. We sold out before lunchtime!
These aren't your average meat pies—they're made from scratch with quality locally sourced ingredients(thanks Gunning Butcher Shop ) packed full of flavour, and baked fresh right here.
Judging by today's response, we think we're onto a good thing!
A huge thank you to everyone who came in and gave our Pulled Brisket Pie a go. Your support means the world to us. ❤️
A special mention needs to go to Ian Blackburn, who we are convinced can sell ice to Eskimos! We have decided he is now the sales whisperer and cheif attention seeker!

But we need your help...

What flavour should we make next?

Tell us your favourite pie filling in the comments—we'll be reading every suggestion!

Let's talk about pricing.

Anyone who knows me and what I stand for will understand how difficult this is for me to talk about, let alone implement.

For more than five years, I've absorbed rising costs and kept our prices unchanged because I've always wanted to remain affordable for our community.

In 2020, a medium coffee cost $5.00.

In 2026, it still costs $5.00.

Yesterday, the Fair Work Commission announced another increase to award wages of 4.75%, effective from 1 July 2026.

What many people don't realise is that this isn't a one-off increase. Over the past five years, cafés have absorbed:

• 2022 – 4.6% wage increase
• 2023 – 5.75% wage increase
• 2024 – 3.75% wage increase
• 2025 – 3.5% wage increase
• 2026 – 4.75% wage increase

On top of that, compulsory superannuation has increased from 10% to 12%.

To be clear, this isn't about staff not deserving a pay rise. My team works incredibly hard and deserves to be paid fairly. They are one of the most important parts of my business, and I can wholeheartedly say that I could not do what i do without them.

But wages are only one part of the story.

Over the same period, we've seen significant increases in the cost of:

• Coffee
• Milk
• Eggs
• Bacon
• Fresh produce
• Meat
• Electricity
• Gas
• Fuel
• Packaging
• Bank fees
• Insurance
• Cleaning supplies

The reality is that the breakfast that cost $20 a few years ago costs considerably more to produce today because every single ingredient, service and expense involved in putting that meal on your table has increased.

Most small cafés aren't increasing prices to get rich.

We're increasing prices because we're trying to keep the doors open, continue employing local people, pay our staff fairly, and remain viable in an environment where costs continue to rise from every direction.

I know times are tough for everyone right now.

They're tough for families, they're tough for customers, and they're tough for small businesses too.

So the next time you notice your local café increase their prices a little, please remember that we're facing rising costs across every aspect of our business.

I'm not asking for sympathy.

I'm simply asking for understanding.

☕️ Support local.
☕️ Support small business.
☕️ Support the businesses that employ local people.
☕️ Support the businesses that help keep regional communities alive.

Thank you for your continued support. It genuinely means more than you know.
