It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David McBey, the heart and soul of Middle Green Sports.

David dedicated his life to creating a place where people from all walks of the community could come together, connect, and enjoy the spirit of sport and friendship. Throughout his journey, he met countless people who became not only friends but, in many cases, family.

He built strong and lasting connections within the Greenbank community and touched the lives of so many in different and meaningful ways. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to others left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.

David was truly one of a kind. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our thoughts and condolences are with his family, friends, and all those whose lives he enriched.

Rest in peace, David.

We finally did it. We bought our groundsman a brand new line marker…
…and I’m pretty sure it was the happiest moment of his adult life! 😂

You’d think we handed him the keys to a Ferrari.
The smile. The excitement. The immediate urge to stripe something. To be fair, though, if you’ve seen how good the fields have been looking lately, this thing has probably found its soulmate.

And yes, if you've noticed… some of the lines aren’t very straight 😅 He jumped into it with that much excitement, he was skipping down the field.

Big shoutout to the bloke who treats the fields like there his front yard. The passion is real at Middle Green! 💚
