We’ve got some not-so-great news…Unfortunately we won’t be at Martians Saloon on Friday night. 🤕

spent the last week trying to find a way to make it work, but with the arm still recovering from surgery and no staff available to help, he’s finally been convinced that trying to be a hero is probably a terrible idea. 👎🏻

As much as it pains him to admit it, there’s a difference between pushing through and being stupid. 🤪

The good news is that we will be back at Martians on Saturday, with people around us who actually know the secrets of the operation and can bully him from lifting things he shouldn’t be lifting. 😈

Thanks to everyone who’s checked in, offered help, and reminded him that having a working arm in ten years is probably more important than one Friday night service. 🙏

🚨 WEEKEND LINEUP UPDATE – 🚨

Alright… quick one from us.

managed to snap his distal bicep tendon clean off the bone (yep… that’s a thing 😅) and is heading in for surgery on Thursday.

So while he’ll be making as quick’a return to work as possible it will be in very “one-armed pointing and whinging” capacity… So we’ve called in some absolute legends to keep the you Martians fed across the weekend 👇

Well… that escalated quickly. 😂

Between our Martians Saloon kitchen takeover, winter events, caravan gigs and catering bookings… we’ve hit the point where we probably can’t physically clone ourselves anymore.

So Workers BBQ × Spinning Half are looking to build a small casual crew for:

🔥 Barbecue prep & service
🍔 Kitchen shifts
🍟 Grill & fryer work
🎪 Festivals & events
🧼 Dishwashing & packdown
🍻 General hospo chaos

You definitely don’t need to be a head chef.

We’re more so looking for good all-rounders who are reliable, can handle a busy service, aren’t afraid of a bit of hard work, and know their way around a kitchen.

If you can slice a brisket, work a fryer, wash dishes, help prep, survive a busy rush and have a laugh while doing it… we should probably chat. 😂

Most work will be:
• Deans Marsh @ Martians Saloon
• Geelong & surrounding events (potentially Melbourne)
• Weekend & event based
• Casual/flexible shifts

Would suit:
cooks/kitchen hands
hospo all-rounders
event crew
people chasing extra weekend work
reliable juniors wanting experience

Workers Barbecue is officially stepping into the kitchen at Martians Saloon.

Back in a live music venue again… which feels like the good kind of dangerous.

For those who’ve been around a while — you’ll know this is where things tend to get a little loud, a little loose… and a lot of fun.

We’re kicking things off this Sunday with a Mother’s Day Shared Feast, before easing into a stripped-back dinner service and building from there.

Low & slow barbecue, cold drinks, live music… and a few ideas we probably shouldn’t be trusted with.

We were meant to be in Adelaide for Gather Round… but our “hosts” kicked us out to use their rental with 48hrs notice! 😡

That was a big one.
cc Bike Night was a ripper as always, smashing burgers like they were going out of fashion. 🍔 Good crew, good vibes, and plenty of bikes lining the street… just how we like it. 🏍️

… wow … what an event! You guys are amazing! 🍎… glad we brought the nephew along for a pair of tiny extra hands! 😝
