For the longest time, I kept telling myself I wasn’t quite “there yet.”

That Love and Karma wasn’t big enough, polished enough, successful enough… good enough for me to spend money on things like professional photography.

There was always something else that seemed more important to invest in.

But eventually I decided to take the plunge.

And I was SO excited to see Love and Karma through someone else’s eyes. 💜

Because when you own a little business, you see everything. The jobs that need doing, the things you want to change, the next idea, the next expense. Sometimes you forget to actually look at what you’ve created.

And then these arrived.

She didn’t just photograph our food or our coffee.

She captured Love and Karma.

The colours. The quirky little things. The quiet moments. The coffee. The conversations. The feeling of sitting down, slowing down and just being here.

She somehow captured exactly how this little place feels to me.

And looking through these photos, I realised something…

Maybe Love and Karma was worthy of investing in long before I believed it was. 💜

I am ridiculously proud of these.

And ridiculously proud of this little place.

💳 SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS & CUSTOMERS, THIS ONE IS WORTH A SIGNATURE.

Card surcharges are disappearing, but the cost of processing card payments isn’t.

And that cost has to land somewhere.

For small businesses like ours, card transaction fees add up to thousands of dollars every year. If we can no longer pass that fee on as a surcharge, we’re left with two choices, absorb another increasing cost of doing business, or build it into our prices.

Neither really fixes the problem.

There is currently an Australian Parliament petition calling for the banks to absorb card transaction fees rather than small businesses or their customers.

👏 If you're a small business owner, please sign it.

👏 If you're a customer who doesn't want to pay card surcharges OR see everyday prices increase to cover them, please sign it.

And if you know another small business owner, tag them or share this with them.

We were lucky enough to taste these recently and they were just too bloody good not to share with you!

This is how most of my days start... 💜

5am, coffee on, lights up, and straight into it.

The early starts aren't always easy, but there's something I love about those quiet moments before the rest of the world wakes up. It feels like a reset. A fresh start. Another chance to do what I love.

Some people hit snooze... I unlock a café. ☕💜
