Ever wondered who that guy painted on the wall is? Gianfranco Soldera - Andrea’s all time favourite producer!! He was lucky enough to visit Case Basse in 2017, before Gianfranco passed away 🤍 Andrea’s most prized vertical is the Soldera Case Basse 2016–2020. This wine is super special because it’s classed as Toscana IGT, not Brunello. Soldera walked away from the consorzio in 2013 and bottled it that way instead, even though it’s the same hillside and same 100% Sangiovese as his previous Brunelli. More on this in next weeks Wine Wednesday. Xx
